No no no the battery should be tested for its drain on STANDBY mode. I'm sure that's where SD will ultimately beat Exynos because that's what happened in Galaxy S10.
The battery drain generally happens when not on WiFi, I avoided buying the s10+ as it is well documented that the battery drain happens on the exynos model of Samsung phones on 4g. I'd be interested to see your results again if you turned the WiFi off and just kept them in your pocket all day. Samsung really needs to get this sorted out as here in the UK it feels as though we get short changed by Samsung between the chipset and the camera
Thanks for such a quite informative video. I just recently bought an Exynos variant and I was too scared that I may not use the phone's maximum potential since it easily gets hot. However, right now, things seem to get better and I am adjusting bit by bit. Hehe either Exynos or Qualcomm Snapdragon, the bottomline is...I still have a Galaxy Note 10 plus. 😝

One interesting issue here in Russia - official pricing for Exynos variant is about 10% higher in comparsion with also selling unofficially Snapdragon variant for HonKong (is is also have 2 sim and russian localization)...
A thing I would've liked to have seen is how the idle battery drain is for both phones. Owning a note 10 for a month now I'm really amazed at how little the battery drains when not using the phone actively. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with the Exynos over the snapdragon or of that's just modern chipsets as I previously had a OP3
Have you got the exynos or snapdragon variant? Want to get this phone next week however I'm kind of thinking twice after hearing about the snapdragon vs exynos battery debate... Apparently the android 10 update helped with the exynos battery, can you confirm?
Yes, so they're basically the same. But some people will stupidly "boycott" the Exynos... And people will also forget that Exynos devices get security support longer, they get (MAJOR OS and patch) updates quicker than the SD, because they are Samsung's own...
once i have a S8 with exynos and S9 plus with snapdragon... the s8 overheat so much and slowed down after 1 year of usage... the S9 still run like a champ til this day and no overheat... For me, never gonna buy exynos again...
From what I seen Samsung is all featured packed has everything and anything you need features wise... but when it comes to battery life they got to do some software tweaking instead of putting a bigger battery. Apple has done really well with a small battery and getting good life. Now they have just short of 4000mah battery it outlast the note for about 2 hours. And it's not that fun unplugging the phone and 2 mins later see it drop to 99%

I have a note 9 exynos and it gets pretty warm from just 10 minutes of facebook scrolling, no background apps, which never happened on my iPhone 8 plus before. I wonder if it has something to do with it being the exynos variant, since I never see snapdragon reviewers mention anything like this. If it is, maybe I'm gonna get an iPhone again, at least they ship with same parts worldwide...
The sad thing is, the average consumer is not even aware that this difference between chipsets exist. Most will just shrug it off as the phone depreciating.

The difference is so small it's not even noticeable unless you're some nutjob who walks around with a Snapdragon phone in one hand, an Exynos in the other, start every app simultaneously and glue a timer to your forehead to measure it. It's nonsense. When the Exynos was reputed to be faster, people complained about the Snapdragon and I always said, guys there's no difference except for some dude who wants clicks on his UA-cam channel. It has absolutely no significance in your everyday life, you both have a beast of phone with 12gb, up to a tb of storage, the fastest UFS storage ever, the best screen on the planet and an SPen that no other device can even try to copy. There is no need to watch this, whatever phone comes out a few milliseconds either way, it doesn't matter a damn to your user experience. Save your time and do something interesting instead. 😉
That might be true if you wouldn't consider GPU. If you play games on your phone adreno gpu in spapdragon is much better than mali in Exynos. Also I heard there is some problem with emulation on Exynos devices... ua-cam.com/video/MQJn1shU_wY/v-deo.html
@@ryandeery6930 And it seems you didn't get my point. His point was that difference is so minimal you can't notice it without putting those phones side by side. And what I am saying is that he is wrong and I happen to be more informed on this matter.
@@ryandeery6930 Well I think it's clear since the link I provided proves my point. You can see big difference between chips in that test. It's over 20% and such difference is mainly because of GPU.
@Thuglife I read somewhere you can import it from sites like Bang good or ask local dealers to import it but honestly I wouldn't risk my money. just my personal opinion
A few points: 1// The Exynos main battery issue, as others have stated, is the standby time, twice as much battery loss than the SD. 2// Although benchmarks are okay, see Speedtest G that is a real-life test and it shows a massive performance difference in the GPU. The CPU is not as good on the Exynos but the deal breaker is the poor GPU. 3// There are camera differences on the s10 variants and having seen various photo reviews some photos are less impressive than others, so I wonder if that still exists? 4// Compared to the SD855+ that Samsung left out of the N10 SD version (maybe due to Exynos poor GPU) the big GPU deficit would be even higher as the plus has 15% better GPU? 5// The Exynos variant may have long term issues with performance and consistency compared to the SD, so it is a bit rich for Samsung in many locations asking Note fans to pay more for the inferior product? 6// Finally, why should we have to put up with a lesser version, Gary @ Speedtest G says that the Exynos N10+ was slower than the SD845 Note 9! We should not be giving Samsung a pass on this, very few influencers bring it up, and when they do, as in this video, the conclusion is the difference is not much so no probs! Well if Apple released an A12 iphone11 in the US and an A13 iphone 11 in Europe I can guess what the influencers would say then, and it would not be a pass!
Hmm I noticed the 855 multi score on GB dropped lower than the exynos after a few re runs. Signal maybe be better on the 855 because the exynos may not have the LTE band the 855 was connected to due to different band regions.
Price is another factor. Why do Samsung always jack up the prices for their Exynos variant? Is it to offset the cost of acquiring Qualcomm chipsets and other agreements included within partner investors? They could at least lower the prices for Exynos variant to equate the phone's performance. Yes, you do get longer security support with Exynos but they could actually do the same with Qualcomm variant. They just won't do it to sell more of their homegrown chipsets 🤑🤑🤑. People should really watch these kind of video comparisons to avoid what happened with their s10s (battery and performance is worse with exynos variant).
they drop their Exynos version price after 2 months of launch. Exynos version note 9 128gb only sells for around USD 530 whereas snapdragon version of note 9 sells for more than USD 700. Price of Note 10 exynos version will drop as well by November. Samsung always tries to price both variants at same level during launch.
This is an intriguing matter because in Asian markets, including my country PH, S10 exynos is more expensive than S10 snapdragon by more than 30 percent to date. Samsung will likely to drop the prices for exynos once they "recovered their sales" at least after the first year of launch. Exynos variant will likely to fail sooner because of hardware limitations than snapdragon then comes additional cost for the device since consumers will need to repair the inside of their devices due to rising thermals, battery replacement, etc.🤑🤑🤑 What a greedy move! With an initial review like that, Note 10 Plus Exynos will likely be left behind in just a few months. Just a piece of advice for any gadget reviewers out there to please try to do a long term review for both units. Be straightforward with your reviews!
In the middle east we only get the Exynos variant and it's OK in general except for intensive video rendering apps ........Thanks alot Mathew.....you're the best.
That use isnt a difference. The difference is in real life. When you are on the road you have idle drain from hell. Thats where the snapdragon variant is far superior. It seems like the modem bundled with the exynos is the problem. Also: Some channels report that the camera makes different pictures too.
From what I remember S10 line had different cam sensors if I'm not mistaking exynos had homemade sensors while sd variants had Sony sensors .. might be same thing with note
Exactly. Have an S10 Exynos, the drain on 4G LTE is very high and basically: if you have the Exynos Model, better stay at home or pack a powerbank. The S10 is the last Exynos device i own, just not gonna go through this again. I get an inferior product for the same price here... but thankfully, i have other options. OnePlus, Google and Apple, for instance. They all pack better software anyway.
my wife bought me a note10plus , 5 months ago. used it for just 1 month, i was so frustrated with its battery drain while on standby. though it charge very very fast.. i thought it had a defective battery but its not. found out that turning on airplane mode during nightime significantly reduced its batery drainage.
I'm always confused by geekbench scores as my Exynos S10+ got a single core score of 4473 and a multi core of 10403 hardly anything in multi core but just under 1000 compared to the SD55
If you don't like one plus, import the S10 plus SD855 variant. Ask local dealers to do it for you or get it yourself from sites like bang good, Amazon, eBay. I did the same
The piece is just unreasonable for the devices in my opinion, Im kinda okay with the Note 10+ but seriously wasn't expecting Samsung to price the regular smaller Note 10 this high, just feel so unreasonable when you look at it.
How much samsung pay u? Bcoz i have both Snapdragon and Exyons. Exynos worst then snapdragon. Exynos battery gaming and camera worst. dont lie Thank you
I think the manufacturer of storage is samsung themselves. So it should be the same chip on both phones. Correct me if I'm wrong, I read the UFS 3.0 on Oneplus 7 pro is also from samsung.
@@mayurhassija6639 It's a sim card tray. Why does it even matter. It'll be inside the phone. And S-pen was plastic on Note 9 too. You can't wirelessly charge through metal. So it can only be plastic. Better tell me how much Samsung paid you for advertising, Your reliability is not worth much. Snapdragon 855 is 18% better than the Exynos 9825 And a huge difference in frequency absorption. Because of the differences in recent years Samsung shut down Exynos self production
The speed issue is mainly due to CPU core design and execution not the GPU. The efficiency on the other hand has to do with scheduler fine tuning (as was demonstrated by anandtech). Changing to AMD does not change any of this.
Is it possible to do a camera comperising video between the two divices? Do you think that they perform the same? I think that it would be very interesting results. But these are the factors that make me reconsider my decision. 1. Most important is that social media like Instagram and Facebook and Snapchat are not as good as on iOS on Android (specially cameras on these apps). 2. The updates that Apple gives are timely and for longer period of time then Samsung. 3. The camera in itself is according to me a stronger point for Apple example its video but at the same time Samsung has some plus points like pro mode. 4. The battery optimisation that Apple has done and is doing is incredible. 5. Although the true reason that I want to go for a note is the spen but I don't know whether it'll be useful. Thank god they upgraded the exynos variant. You should do a camera test as well cause s10’s sd photos came out way better than the exynos’s ones. I hope this doesn’t happen on the note 10 plus. Great job overall.
Thanks dude!
Still shit
No no no the battery should be tested for its drain on STANDBY mode. I'm sure that's where SD will ultimately beat Exynos because that's what happened in Galaxy S10.
The battery drain generally happens when not on WiFi, I avoided buying the s10+ as it is well documented that the battery drain happens on the exynos model of Samsung phones on 4g. I'd be interested to see your results again if you turned the WiFi off and just kept them in your pocket all day. Samsung really needs to get this sorted out as here in the UK it feels as though we get short changed by Samsung between the chipset and the camera
4G radios consumes hell out of the battery.
Yh you do bro, like I wanna get the phone like very soon and I think ima get the exynos version cause Of my region, so like I really need advice
"Is almost just as good...", except that the the exynos freezed, lagged, discharged faster, recharged slower.... lol

Exynos was a star when s6 and s7 around. But it just faded away.
Can't say something bad about my Exynos Note 10+. No lags or freezes, the quality of the camera is on point and charging is compared to other videos as fast as the snapdragon version. But hey. Lets us kill all the competition and let the price rise^^
@@AlcatrazCrylake We`re not criticizing to kill competition, we`re criticizing for the competition to improve their products and not sell products saying that they are better or equal to the top products.
you should've compared the image processing

1 thing that you didn't compare is the camera. Qualcomm version use sony IMX while Exynos version use in house ISOCELL, also they both have different ISP. it will be interesting to see the comparison.

Snapdragon any day... Exynos have always trouble managing standby efficiency
I have the Exynos variant, and I agree that the battery life is excellent.
Please don't give people false information. Note 10 exynos lags and drops frames while playing pubg... Snapdragon 845 doesn't.. Let alone 855... Maybe you don't play high end games, but a lotta people do man.. And about the battery drain, try using 4g and give em a standby of 16 hours or so then you ll see the difference. This test is flawed. A thing I would've liked to have seen is how the idle battery drain is for both phones. Owning a note 10 for a month now I'm really amazed at how little the battery drains when not using the phone actively. From what I seen Samsung is all featured packed has everything and anything you need features wise... but when it comes to battery life they got to do some software tweaking instead of putting a bigger battery. I have a note 9 exynos and it gets pretty warm from just 10 minutes of facebook scrolling, no background apps, which never happened on my iPhone 8 plus before. Thanks for the comparison Matthew. I also confirm your findings. Both chips are equivalent in everything except some minor performance in the gpu (exynos
Also I heard there is some problem with emulation on Exynos devices...

great video, thanks pro for verifying the battery life.
A few points:
1// The Exynos main battery issue, as others have stated, is the standby time, twice as much battery loss than the SD.
The standby draining bug in Exynos has been fixed after July update in S10
Hani Aljundi nice one. I thought it may have been a hardware issue so that is good.
2:25 did anyone notice this? can we conclude that with time and heat the exynos gets better with multicore and vice versa?
