Podcast idea: I used to play a game as a kid where My friend would write the first line of a story and then fold the paper so I couldn’t see and I’d write the next line (etc etc) and then we’d have a full story that was totally whacko by the end and it was so fun to read them back.

according to google the term “zories” comes from the word “zōri” which are a kind of japanese sandals. soldiers would bring them home as souvenirs after serving in wwii so that term became popular on the east coast. you learn something new every day, thanks debbie machine

I was looking to see if someone commented this. My dad's dad was in the air force, so my dad grew up in Japan, and he has always called them zoris, and he always has a pair for inside and one for outside. He usually wears them with socks underneath in the house.
Valley Cheow that’s so interesting! i had never realized that their spread from japan in the 40s/50s by english speakers is what developed into so many regional names
I only know about Zori is because there in animal crossing 😭😭😂

I definitely noticed not drinking coffee everyday, but it only took like 2 days of not feeling the best to get over it. Caffeine is such a mild drug. Nothing like even alcohol withdrawals.
