Biological Engineer to be exact and came into contact with many female engineers.. i promise you.. she is NOT an engineer. she MAY have done environmental sciences or got some engineering credits.. but not environmental engineering.. which is a specialization of Civil Engineering. she would say "civil" engineer if she was really graduated under that program. there is a certain way we talk in the engineering world about our degree programs and explanations on our background.. she didn't exhibit any of those.

i'm an engineer.. Biological Engineer to be exact and came into contact with many female engineers.. i promise you.. she is NOT an engineer. she MAY have done environmental sciences or got some engineering credits.. but not environmental engineering.. which is a specialization of Civil Engineering. she would say "civil" engineer if she was really graduated under that program. there is a certain way we talk in the engineering world about our degree programs and explanations on our background.. she didn't exhibit any of those.
I agree 100%. I'm a civil engineer and I interned at an engineering firm during the summer before my 1st semester. They did mostly environmental engineering. But all their degrees were Civil Engineering. Same with structural engineering. It's just a branch of civil 💯

I think they were being defensive possibly because they thought Myron asserted women to be physically weaker, therefore weaker in an overall sense, and therefore insignificant. So basically they were defending the point, in their minds, of the interpretation that women are insignificant. The argument obviously puts women in an unfavorable spot because it demonstrates a limitation, and who wants to be limited? Maybe there is a possibility to make it clear that it doesn't affect a human's primary value which is to be a being of the existence that is designed to experience the world. Because if you can phrase unfavorable things in a compassionate way, revealing the deeper liberation/illumination, then it at least offers the catalyst to feel secured without stumbling onto quick fallacies which produce distortions in perception.
Yeah and again there's the 1% of women who probably did make something. However 99% of the things you see today are what men have made.
