投薬を続けても症状の進行が止まらず、両足の衰えが顕著になりました。これまでとても活発だったのに、長い間ずっとベッドで横たわるようになったアイガー。動物病院で血液検査、レントゲン、そして超音波を取ってもらいました。結果は原因特定に至らず、炎症を抑えるためのステロイドの投薬量を変えて、アイガーの症状の変化を観察することで、原因の絞り込みをする方針になりました。

Continued medication did not stop the progression of his symptoms, and the decline in both of his legs became more pronounced. Eiger, who had been very active in the past, began to lie in bed for long periods of time. We took him to the vet for blood tests, x-rays, and an ultrasound. The results were inconclusive, and the plan was to narrow down the cause by changing the dosage of steroid medication to reduce inflammation and observing the changes in Iger's symptoms.
