hello mate, what you think of the s series made in Korea, i cant find any specs information online. its one of those with golden logo and black and gold sticker at the heel. they seem really nice. are they solid wood bodies?. thanks for the videos
I recognised the offset pickguard on the lower horn straight away like on my s9 squier strat 89 but mine had rosewood, was an amazing strat i wish I hadn't sold it 🤦♂️
I have a Samick Strat I think it is a 94 the serial no. starts with a 94 it is a very nice guitar but I have changed the pickups but I might change them back.
I like the Tokai the best tbh I know most people will chose a Squier but the tokai as a big wide neck something special I love. I can get over the tuning pegs split posts as I have other fenders which have that it’s part of the traditional design. The Squier as a different sound to the Tokai but both are good but if your on a budget the old early Korean Squier would be the way to go 👍
I had this dakota red squier II guitar from 1991... it had a plywood body and not the best pickups, but the neck was amazing. Should have kept it for the neck Btw i am amazed how you handle the 11s strings... i think we kind of play in a similiar style and i am down to 09s. Might try getting back to a little thicker strings with putting 10s on my les paul
This one different to a Squier 2 full size body and nice round tuning pegs full size fender block all original but yes the Squier 2 Korean samick ones have amazing necks I agree ☝️ the neck will be the same as this one. I think samick did two specs of the guitar more lower spec one but necks are still the same one just says Squier Stratocaster and one says Squier 2 Stratocaster made in Korea which were in the us market
@@lostgroovemusic8494 you think the neck is 9.5" or 7.25" Radius? Seriously thinking of getting me another samick squier for the neck. I also once had a samick branded telecaster from the early 90 which had a great neck shape too, but the truss rod was not working :/
100% agree about the necks on these, mine is a 1991 Samick silver logo and for playability it is unputdownable. I did change pups, pots and tuners though as after 30 years of little use everything was a bit scratchy but that's the beauty of Strats, you can update all the parts and have a great guitar for little money, mine stands me less than £200 all done and it gets played everyday 😊

i like the korean squier what’s the beginning of serial number and il tell you if it be solid body or laminate either is fine. They are made great.
The squier definitely for me. Those Korean built strats & teles of the early 90s are generally exceptional squiers.
Samick ones made in the late 80s early ones have full size blocks bodies the thickness the later Korean Squier stuff is made cheaper

I like Squier sound best
Yeah it does sound good don’t it I like both though they are different but for Blues Squier as something
