Hahaha exactly bro, me and my brothers one after countless retries finally beat him, but it was only once though, later we got to the prehistorik man town, and we cohldnt progress further, becauae the game was set to english not french, by me as i used to smack to controller buttons till i get to the play screen.., and none of us kids knew english back then, in that mission you had to take hints from npcs so ....
After that only many many years later i got to play on an emulator and finally beat the game.
