    Good morning team! Gil, thank you for that wonderful news. The one word to describe my feeling of these changes thus far, Excited! I'm pretty sure this is the most Lou has done, hopefully with Roy's input, to help improve the team lately, probably since hiring Trots as manager. I'm feeling a bit more confident about this upcoming season. Let's see where all this goes. Hopefully Duclair will fit in well with his line mates, whom ever they are. Thanks again, Sir. Everyone, have a great day! See you all again next time. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

    Can't under sell the fact that you have a player of regardless of the money wanted to come to long island and a coach who actually wanted him here
    Should give him a lot of confidence
    No doubt makes us better and younger and faster
    Maybe Lou even also signs Jeff Skinner to cheap price

    This is a good move. Duke is A French Canadian that Roy probably asked for. He will score goals for sure. He is a regular season player however. He did ok early in playoffs but then got injured. Panthers who shipped him out, going more physical and defensive.

      Duclair has his limitations but he also has the speed and skill set the Isles lack. It's a low cost smart move that improves the team a bit without breaking the bank. They are still not an elite Cup contender, but they're better than they were Sunday. Thanks for the comment, Alex.

      @@LockedOnIslanders Have my doubts. Hes a consistent 40-point player (with one breakout season in 21-22) that doesn’t have the greatest reputation. Jonathan Marchessault in comparison, who’s been much more productive in the past 6-7 years, only got a little over $5 million per. I think a decent comparison for Duclair is Jonathan Drouin; talented players that have hit rough spots in their career but building themselves back up. Drouin just got $2.5 million from the Avs.

  • @stevenbauer4799

    Albelin a former devil? That is so lou. And duclair at 3.5x4 is a good signing and has the roy connection who can add some speed and scoring to isles top six. The problem is this is duclair's 9th team in 9 years and his d is shaky. Had 31 g 57 pt. nhl highs and once scored 50 for roy in q league so hopefully roy can get him d responsible and knows how to use him. I'd put him with 29, 21 which still leaves 13, 14 needing a scorer on their wing. Duclair was the mid tier ufa isles could afford. The extra cap $$$'s paid for duclair. Without that isles couldn't have signed anyone. 2 was a nice value signing at 1.2x1. And 44 and 27 remain so isles can't do shit until one or both are dumped somehow with roughly $1,200,500 mil. left in cap space.
    And holy fk trotz stole ufa day. Stamkos, marchesseault, skjei, re-signed saros. Trotz dumping in trade/retainment of duchene, johannson a year ago paid off. Louzer should learn how to do that from trotz.
    And that is probably it. Louzer's run it back roster is complete with that big hole up front still remaining. There are still forwards out there that will move-laffs want to move marner who wont waive his ntc, Laine, zegras, necas, unhappy mcgroutity and n. robertson, ehlers could wait till tdl. Canes lost players left and right, rosters changed. Louzer can't find a spot for 44 anywhere? And fla. cats are under the cap squeeze trying to fit everyone under cap and lost two d men with bennett and verheaghe ufa's after next season and still can't sign lundell. Too bad louzer has no $$$'s to offer sheet lundell.

    • @LockedOnIslanders
      @LockedOnIslanders  2 місяці тому

      Lou will have to move somebody out to add anybody unless he can sign Holmstrom with the cap space he has left. There are still players that can help available, but will Lou move on from Lee or Pageau to do it? Can he find any takers? The mess he created is still hurting the team even though Duclair was a good signing. Thanks for the comment, Steven.

    Ive seen people on other platforms say its a signing because Duclair's best season was 31 goals and typically it’s in the teens. He had a lot of shorter seasons and this season playing 73 games He had 24 goals and 16 of them were on the sharks. We give him a full schedule and a team that can actually give him any aid then I think he could be a 30 goal scorer and some

    Where is Lou planning on playing our 7 million dollar man captain Lee? Where does Wally play? Is Simon a 3 rd or 4th line player? Where is the size and crunch now Cal and Marty appear gone? We are a soft team! Islanders will be smacked around by bigger stronger teams! Where does the Russian Play? So we have how many centers? There are a lot of questions! Honestly Lou should be locked on Rutger of the Jets to really bump the prospect pool! Come on Lou!!!! There has to be a deal or 2 so we can manage this cap space. More Devils but I do like Tommy A! If you are an ex Devil apply for a job and Lou will hire You!

    • @LockedOnIslanders
      @LockedOnIslanders  2 місяці тому

      Lee is likely back on the third line. Wahlstrom will probably be traded before the season starts. As far as physicality, we'll see what happens but they do need a little more of it. We talked about Rutger but no cap space now so you have to trade away a big contract to add anybody except maybe Holmstrom. They have a little more than $1 million in cap space right now. Thanks for the comment, Otto.

  • @MrRobt1971
    @MrRobt1971 2 місяці тому +3

    the question now is; who is Duclair replacing? Engvall? same age same amount of money. Then they have to get under the cap, you'd have to think Palmieri Cizikas Lee all available. I think they are going add another wing for the top line. But that blueline concerns me; like to see them add more toughness and grit. They're going to have to replace the toughness of Martin and Clutterbuck. One major need we've ignored is TOUGHNESS.

    • @LockedOnIslanders
      @LockedOnIslanders  2 місяці тому +1

      Toughness is needed. Usually, those guys don't cost as much. To move anybody in, they have to shed salary, right now, the Isles have a little more than $1 million in cap space and they still haven't re-signed Holmstrom, Wahlstrom and Iskhakov. Thanks for the comment, MrRobt1971.

    Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The Islanders signed Anthony DuClair, WELCOME TO LONG ISLAND. It's perfect. He's a Top 6 player, no stranger to Patrick Roy, and he's been on a Stanley Cup Winning team in Tampa Bay. He's 28 years old, and he's still in his prime. I'm not saying that DuClair might take them to the Stanley Cup Finals, although it would be nice. He can kill penalties, and he's good on the PP. He's a speedster like Bob Bourne. The Islanders have just over $1M in their Cap Space, but stuff had been known to happen. The Islanders re signed Mike Reilly. I'm glad, because he's solid. The Islanders hired Tommy Albaline as an Assistant Coach. He was with The New Jersey 👿 organization for nearly 20 years. The Islanders open their season at 🏡 against UT, on October 10, and will be in Dallas 2 days later. HAPPY 🎂, ROB SCHRIMP. Had a mediocre career. He had 2 goals in 6-0 win over Detroit. Lou Lamoriello used hus head this ⌚. Hear from you later. Gil, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
