Some of these projects we tackle have so many variables to them and for such relatively tiny runs for the fans of the Neopets community that purchase any given item, and some of those variables are outside our control or benefit from feedback over subsequent iterations (like the Advent calendars) to mitigate issues. The Tarot deck we were relentless about paying attention to every detail possible, having had previous experience with creating the Last Unicorn tarot deck. Many of these projects are just as much a labor of love and of passion for us, and we try to do the best we can!
I have lots of tarot decks and this is a very good deck. The paper, imaging, and gold foil quality are amazing. The depth and lore in the included book are above and beyond what I was expecting. This is better than some tarot decks created by people who consider themselves full-time tarot readers and artists. The people involved in creating this absolutely nailed the assignment. My only teeny tiny critique is the font. I don't know what would have been better but the font on the cards catches my eye. It is clear and easy to read, but I'm not sure what isn't working for me.
I agree that this deck is outstanding in its field! The artwork is beautiful. On the topic of the typeface, could it be that it doesn't match the theme?

Sometimes tarot decks with multiple artists end up with a kind of stylistic clash, so I am pleased to see all of the cards look professional and match one another.
The art looks very consistent! The coordination between the artists is clear. It's beautiful!
Ooh much hype, thanks for sharing the unboxing and flipthrough! And gosh, I feel you on the bag, it definitely looks like that cheap uncomfortable fabric. I'm also sad they called it the Rider-Waite and left out Smith (the artist of the original popular RWS cards), but that's a personal nit-pick there. I just hate when her name gets dropped. But the art looks fantastic! I love how you can tell they not only did their research for Neopets lore, but also the actual meanings of each card. Spot on! Apart from their plushies, I definitely would put this on the top as far as products they've made goes. (And yes, notebooks would be awesome, that's a great idea!)
Let's start a petition! Just kidding! On the note of merch, I would also love a sketchbook or watercolor notebook.
Oh my god, I love all the details and references to neopets lore in the cards. I would love to have this deck myself so I could stare at all the art for hours

bought the deck after seeing this! it's so beautiful and i love these more novel merch items - i also pre-ordered the cookbook! it's nice to get cool usable things aside from the usual tshirts, backpacks, mugs, and plushies (though i adore plushies too lol). totally agree that they should do a more "subtle" line too so we can rep neopets in our daily lives while still coming across as at least semi-professional and adult! my office is very casual but i think i'd still get some looks if i wore something like the illusen/jhudora frenemies shirt hahaha.

I am in love with this!!! I've only recently been getting into tarot, but I've done my best to learn all about the cards and their meanings - and I *love* the way the illustrations in this deck mesh with the traditional Rider-Waite set! The incorporation of neopets lore from all stages of the site, from the very early plots like the battle for Meridell, to more "modern" stuff such as the Obelisk; the inclusion of familiar characters and locations; the gorgeous composition of each card and the care they put into every illustration... I am so amazed by the associations they made between each card and their neopian equivalent! Some of my favorites include The Wheel of Fortune, The Hanged Man, The Six of Pentacles, and The Queen of Swords, but they are all so so so wonderful!! I'd love to buy this deck someday ;w;

Gotta add this to my tarot deck collection, I think. I especially appreciate that so much of the Minor Arcana reflects the traditional imagery and/or includes the count of their suit, since I've had some that just put art of... whatever that's in theme instead of matching the meanings. It's pretty jarring to, say, have a happy frolicky picture for the Ten of Swords, for instance. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

I got the last unicorn deck from Geekify as a Xmas present the year before last and this one looks just as gorgeous! The last unicorn one is dark purple with gold foil, the royal blue looks just as lovely. I'm gonna have to add this one to my collection too!

I dont know how to use them but I've loved tarot cards and their aesthetic since cardcaptor sakura and these look so high quality, if they were to do a Flight Rising one I might just buy it. I knew some of Neopets lore but from this deck I'd say I know only like 40%
They should make a version of this with the number and suit symbols on the corners so it can be used to play the game of Tarot (the REAL traditional way these cards were used.)
I know there's a market for this version, do you think there would be a big market for traditional tarot game cards?
