That one huge log you split ended up having about 17 smaller split logs.....that is amazing!! That's probably enough wood to burn your wood burner for a half a day that big log alone.

I run a champion log splittter,upright or vertical. Both are great,us a 10,000 watt Gen with 13,000 surge. Takes care of all my needs,expensive to run ,I get 17 hrs out of 7gals of gas. The best thing I ever did when it comes to cutting firewood was to put a vise on the 4-wheeler and the tractor I use when cutting firewood. A vise makes sharpening a cinch! You don't have to wrestle the saw or try to find a way to hold it! Lee

Save a 8' length by 3.5" diameter branch of that hickory.... remove bark, dry it, then make yourself a 6' handle for a Cant Hook... perfect to roll logs with...

Josh maybe hook into the other end of the wolfe ridge and just move the splitter along the row of rounds it seems it would save you carrying the rounds to the splitter
That splitter will work 3 people hard to keep up with it. Nice video Josh. If you get 3 people you will be able to run a cord in 1 hour or less. Wolfe ridge put the fun in splitting.

Save a bag or 2 of chunks for the smoker. You need to have a small dump trailer or regular trailer to haul those splits where they are going. Pickup works but not as cool lol. Save the back

Josh @ first I thought silly lift but then that's no baseball bat you're lifting it's hardwood dense wood and after doing a bunch of log lifting that lift gives you a not stressing your bent spine and a slide out side platform. Great get down on it hydraulic piston power that tore up twisted wood fibers in that included bark crotch of tree split which makes a great multifiber woodstove place for fire to get a going. And all that hardwood well it will burn long and hot and 3 yrs dry standing wood most all of it will be burn ready perhaps the included bark at crotch might like a bit longer to dry or .... ? Perhaps it's ready or readi-enough to be good to go. Nice machine that 6 way & add the adjustable blade height and it pushes just right speed. BTW skookum chainsaw. Merry Christmas brother David

Do you have issues with your bar oil leaking out while your saw is not in use? Causes a mess and wastes a lot of oil, but I can't figure out how to eliminate the leaking. A husky gas and a Kobalt electric both do it. And Merry Christmas!!
Some saws are more prone to a little leakage. I typically store them in a place with a catch pan under them. STIHL has never had an issue but all of my husky saws tend to drip a little bar oil. Run them almost dry before ya put them away has been my solution

Hint here--if you back a trailer right u[p to the end of the splitter--slide the wood right into the trailer. Don't have to bend over and lift again. Sorry--I'm an old guy--so I try to do the simpliest waay. Enjoy ur video's

hearwood v/s sapwood ....the black that you saw was fungi between the crotch split area. Rot is the answer
How many times did you have to refill the chain bar oil reservoir while processing the tree?
Once...normally it's good for 1 tank of fuel...that's about how much I burned on this project
