Fun fact about these lines, she's taking inspiration from a very old russian song that she covered in one of the bonus tracks off "What We Saw from the Cheap Seats" called "The Prayer of François Villon (Molitva)." The song's verses ask that God give certain things to certain people. "Господи, дай ты каждому Чего у него нет/Умному дай голову/Трусливому дай коня/Дай счастливому денег/И не забудь про меня "God, give everyone what they don't have/Give the wise one a head/Give the coward a horse/give the happy one money/and don't forget about me" I love how in "The Prayer of François Villon" he's begging to not be forgotten, but here the speaker just wants "to ride." To me, it's a resignation to what she does get given and a trust that the ride will be what it's meant to. It's so beautiful to me to hear her influences coming out in this song. She's taking the art that made her her and spinning it into something all her own. For all my fellow lyric nerds out there I recommend you translate "The Prayer of François Villon" so that you can consider these lyrics through that lense. Can you try ways to meet new people...Meetup groups...volunteer work...attending book readings at libraries or bookstores etc? Also, when I feel alone, I like to think of nature as a 'friend'. Look up at the trees...feel the breeze...watch the clouds move... feed the birds...see the bees pollinating flowers...see the squirrels play... etc. All of nature, wild animals etc are 'alone', and yet One. And so too are we. We are all a part of this. And humans, unlike animals, can use their brains and creativity to come up with ways to become more engaged with their fellow humans. And if for any reason that doesn't work (maybe because of where you live, difficulty connecting with people etc) then try to focus on connecting with nature and doing some volunteering. ❤

Also, being raised on classical music and having played in many orchestras, I love the sweeping grandiose classical vibes. Regina is one of my top 3 favorite artists since I was 16. I'm 30 now, and she's definitely the favorite of my 5 year old daughter (and still one of mine).
Coincidentally my next vacation starts July 10, when Regina is expected to play with the Avett Brothers at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.... Me and my girlfriend was planning Hawaii, but we're both huge fans of Regina that we might actually go to Colorado instead. The Red Rocks venue seem absolutely like no other for a unique experience that's totally worth it! Either that or hope for more tour dates closer to fall, perhaps in California. 7 months is no time at all. It's still so fresh. It will improve, but slowly, over many years and repeated passing of notable dates and holidays.

Coincidentally my next vacation starts July 10, when Regina is expected to play with the Avett Brothers at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.... Me and my girlfriend was planning Hawaii, but we're both huge fans of Regina that we might actually go to Colorado instead. The Red Rocks venue seem absolutely like no other for a unique experience that's totally worth it! Either that or hope for more tour dates closer to fall, perhaps in California.
Either way, I love your new song Regina! And I will see you in concert again, somewhere!
