i'll have to say, Beck intrigues me. Because his musical style is so elaborate and different, and he as a person is so different. He's weird. But I guess you have to be weird to be innovative. I have no idea how anyone can be scientologist and be married to someone that is his mother delivered, but you know what? He's still an interesting person and makes music people love, and that's his job.
yes beck is bloody original but there are many other original musicians, radiohead, aphex twin, unkle, dj shadow and autechre to name a few. i know its not much of a reply, but it just pisses me off when people act lik beck is the sole upholder of original music
I kind of interpret the entire "modern guilt" thing about beck and our grandparents generation feeling guilty about leaving the world in such shambles for our generation to clean up (global warming, economic meltdown, wars ect ect)
