Couple notes (for anyone on V11): Module compatibility checker - was only useful for the v9->v10 update, it offers no functionality as of v10+ Module Management+ - is superior in every way to Tidy UI Combat Carousel - is no longer supported, the spiritual successor for V10\V11 is Carousel Combat Tracker Token mold - If all you care is prepending adjectives and numbers to token names, that is already in core V11
This video is about v10. So all these that you pointed out will still work. But I did have a note in the description that combat carousel will no longer be supported. I can add one about the compatibility checker. I have been using v11 lately (after filming this) and module compatibility checker and combat carousel are working so far, but who knows how long. I can look into module Management+ though. Thanks for sharing!
@@CantripsMedia Cheers, happy to provide some suggestions :D. The issue with Module Compatibility checker is that it uses a community created spreadsheet to check for compatibility, and that is no longer been done for V11+ due to module devs beeing harassed for not updating!
Brilliant video - thank you! I've just installed Foundry and am getting to grips with the base functions before activating any modules, but now I have a load of the most useful ones ready to activate in due course! :)
Thank you for this very useful list of core modules. Re-installing Foundry after quite a while (my last build ran on V7 or so) this is exactly what I was looking for!
All the modules are listed in the description too! So you can just click the links there to go straight to the foundry page! Unsurprisingly, a new version of Foundry is on the horizon (v12 actually) so I'll be making an update for that one soon. Plus a Pathfinder one is on the way too (though you don't really need PF2e ones... PF friends are so spoiled lol).
7:18 shows a journal tab on the Tiny UI Character sheet. Is this another module, something that comes with Tiny UI, or something I'm missing in the basic character sheet?
Just a warning, Token Action HUD can cause extreme latency problems if you have even the smallest amount of latency between server and host. Had to disable the functionality while playing with some users across the ocean, sadly.
Do you know if DDB importer works with Dungeon Master Vault (DMV)? I am brand new to Foundry, and the fact that I have to basically recreate the 5e PHB as my own compendium sucks. I have the add-ons in DMV that have all subclass already created.
Well, I'm a bit of a module fanatic. I have over a hundred installed (though not all of them enabled, but deleting them is a pain, since I can't tell which are actually used from the management screen). Anyway, here's a few fun and/or functional recommendations: - Always HP: an easy way to manage random damage/healing of a token. - Chat reactions: adds emoji reactions to the chat, similar to Discord for example. Depends on your table but can be just a simple fun addition. - Follow me: ever needed to manage a few NPCs following the party in exploration? Well, this one lets you just set the tokens following at a set distance. Significantly lowered the amount of headache for me - Covered token rescue HUD: pretty much what it says on the tin. Nice way to select tokens that are covered by other tokens. No more awkwardly shuffling them around. - Macro grid: lets you view all the macro rows and set up macros for your players. Can be very useful if you're running a macro-heavy module like PF2E Ranged Combat. Or if you just like macros. - Minimal UI: makes everything more compact. Less screen covered up by buttons, more access to the playing field. What's not to love? - Mini tracker: an alternative to Combat Carousel that I ended up using after carousel kept glitching out on me. And it helps that this tracker lets you quickly change combat order by dragging combatants around, which is something that is seeing a fair amount of use in my PF2E game. - Module credits: where Module Compatibility Checker makes it easier to figure out what works, Module credits just massively improves the module list in every way imaginable. - Stairways: if you only want Monk's tiles for teleportation, give this a try as well. It's not as immersive, since it adds buttons that teleport you on click, but that approach also has its advantages: you can hide them from your players until they find the hidden staircase for example, and you can also populate the world/area map with them acting as both markers and map entry points. Also, they're very easy to make. - Tokenizer: just an easy way to make tokens from art. Though after being introduced to the style of tokens introduced in Pathfinder Token Pack, I now toil in image editing software cause it looks too nice to not put in the effort. ...I have a fair bit more, but a lot of it is more situational or preferential.

Very nice video! Do you know if there's any module that plays a sound only to specific tokens/players? I want it for a horror game I'm planning, and also a module that allows the players to move objects
If you really want to use popout as a GM and you are running the non web foundry version, you can just create an additional GM account and go to your foundry web link and login as the second GM account whilst the other GM account is just running in the non web version foundry.
Thanks for the info! You may be a little late. V11 has been out over a month and unless the modules have been updated, the v10 are not good to use (IMO) on a new version. That being said, not everyone updates immediately and may still be using v10. I guess when you made this video v11 had only been out about 2 weeks. Anyway, thanks again. :)
Not sure what this is exactly in response to! But I am working on a PF2e version of this video and am open to trying different games (on the list currently is Call of Cthulhu and Vampire the Masquerade and we're still working our way through the PF beginner box). Let me know! I'm down!
@@CantripsMedia I just get so amazingly sick and tired of hearing about D&D, which is such a cliche, now. It's easy mode for the lazy. Pathfinder is just like it. I don't have anything against you, I don't know you, so I can't; however, having begun with OD&D in '82 in my Middle School Library in Elko, NV, and having experienced the things I have, played all the RPGs I have, I can honestly say there are better stories to be had, far better systems to play, and truly new ideas to be played through. I'm going to leave it at that and say adieu.
Then this channel is probably not for you! I never disagreed with you. D&D is the most well known and I feel it's a gateway TTRPG, which just brings people into the hobby to discover other systems. This channel is to help beginners more than experienced players. I hope you find a channel or group that fits with your mentality better! Thanks for sharing!
I wish there's a way to know how to set up Some of these Modules... Since they don't come set up... and knowing why some of them aren't working with other modules. Mainly MidiQOL hhh

just popped in to thank you and to tell you that you are a madman, a genius and I love your work :)

Excellent resource! Thank you very much! Ive shared the video with my whole group to see which ones we want to add :)
Thanks again!
I'm glad!!!

Glad it helped! We're already on V11 and there are plans for a v12. So some of these might not work perfectly, but it'll at least get you started!

Getting the right modules without crippling the aged PCs we expect to function just like it isn't a decade plus.
Thank you for this video, you've saved me a lot of work haha :D
Thank you so much for the video :)
Great video! You mentioned a few I need to go check out now.

That's a Tiny UI addition, I believe.

Hello ! Thanks for your extensive work :) I'm interested for a pathfinder 2 version of this video

This is important.
3:19 if you run the application and have the world started you can load into the world on a web browser and still utilize the popout feature
Thank you for sharing!! That's good to know!
Can't wait for v11 now! :D

question, do you have to be a patreon to mrprimate to use the Dnd Beyond Importer module?

Most of the module names reported here are inaccurate. This makes it harder for us to make sure we are getting the right one.
All the modules mentioned are linked in the description so you can find the right one to add to Foundry!
I would really like a PF2e version pleeeeease ... 🙂
Pathfinder 2e version please!

Yeah that's a lot! But hey as long as you use 'em. Mine's starting to get worse since I added some PAthfinder specific modules >_

It was definitely one that needed updated, but some of the modules still work so hopefully both videos introduced you to new modules!
