After watching the new G5 make your mark episodes I created a scenario in my head what might happen if mane 5 made it into Opaline's castle and confronted her. I decided on a small animatic, something I haven't done since my first time doing one of these as a University project back in 2017.
I'm always interested in the creative processes behind animated shows I like and took some direction on official existing ones I could find on UA-cam for G5.
The animatic was all done in Photoshop, mainly because I wanted to keep my brushes and drawing fidelity and didn't want to learn a new program for it. Although in the end something like storyboard pro would've been the better option as Photoshop is very very limited in what it can provide for animation. I used the video timeline option rather than its weird frame animation timeline.
When the animatic was done I enlisted the help of Alilunaa to provide Voicework to all the female characters as there wasn't a lot of dialogue to begin with. Check her work out here! / alilunaa

@@shadowx8145 if you watched the show, you know the writers don't like causing any kinds of conflicts at all (even simple things like character having a problem heading to a destination only to get it solved in the same scene)

Honestly I doubt that will happen. Companies nowadays don’t really give what the fans want.
The only way to defeat Opaline is with the 6 Elements of Harmony, and there are only 5 ponies. Misty should join the main cast as the 6th.
If that happens, it would be the 5th generation's mane 6.

This is how I expect the mane 5 and Opaline to meet. This should be interesting if the writers used this idea and incorporated it into chapter 4.❤
Yeah, but… why should _we_ (the fans) be coming up with all these great ideas and not the writers who are getting paid for it? Then they would copyright it as their property and fans would be dragged over the gravel once again for referring to those scenes in their artworks on copyright grounds. Why is it that if they take ideas from the fans, they call it "just an inspiration", and when the fans get inspired by the show and create their own artworks, using their own creativity and resources, they're getting copyright claims or getting sued? Don't you see a teeny tiny little imbalance here? :q

@@anikajarvis9037 Copyright has nothing to do with "stealing". When you steal something, then you have it and you can use it, but the original owned doesn't have it and cannot use it anymore.
With ideas, it's completely opposite: you cannot "steal" them, because they're immaterial. You can only copy them or share them. And when you do, they don't disappear from the original creators, they can still use them and benefit from them.
Even copyright law is not about ideas _per se_ - you have to put them into a physical form first. (That's why you can't copyright ideas themselves: math formulas, ideas for a book, inventions, methods, processes etc.)
Copyright protects those physical forms: copies (as the name suggests). It is a _temporary monopoly_ given to the copyright owner (which doesn't necessarily have to be the original author! copyrights can be sold to publishers, and in most cases they are) for making copies of the work (not of the idea itself). They are allowed to make copies, you are not.
But even this monopoly is not absolute! (Which they often don't tell you.) There's a lot of exceptions to it, guaranteed by copyright law itself: things like quoting, reviewing, educational purposes, and personal use - all sorts of "fair use".
So, for example, you can make a copy of a movie or a book for your own personal purposes. And this is not "stealing" either! The copyright owners are being compensated for that with so-called "copyright levies" - all sorts of fees incorporated in the prices of copying devices (printers, faxes, cameras) and media (hard disks, CDs, even paper!). And all these "taxes" are supposed to go to the copyright owners. (Whether they actually go, is a whole another story.)
Unfortunately, copyright laws are one thing, and what corporations can do with their lawyers and their money, is another. In practice, they have extreme advantage in court and lots of money to hire better lawyers, and even if the law is on your side, they often win in the court. These days, copyright law is often abused, and its main purpose nowadays is just to destroy any competition the media corporations would encounter, including the artists from the fandom (who in many cases can produce much better content than the original authors working for those corporations).
It's remarkable how this one animatic had more tension and stakes than 8 MYM episodes! Way to go!
This honestly just feels like a better version of the episode that just came out
I hope this happens for Chapter 3 or 4, because I know Misty would never do anything evil and she deserves better then how Opaline treats her.
I don't like the ideas of chapter for mlp series. Unless it's done right like avatar : the last air bender, I don't think this series should do it in chapter. Theu woild be better in seasons like g4 did.

I could totally see all this happening. Izzy was especially in-character! It feels like you got a sneak-peek at the series finale script.

This was great! Seems very realistic for a kind of confrontation they may have, especially with Misty's part(s) of the exchanges. Her and Izzy's little casual banter before she gets dropped in the well was definitely accurate and Pinkie-esque for Izzy, too.

This is absolutely amazing!THIS is what I want the plot to be like for Mlp Make Your Mark not the filler- kiddy- inattentive episodes they’ve been coming with. THIS is what the creators should be coming up with.THIS is what the show has the potential to be. Sweet Celestia, this is amazing! The way the characters act makes it feel like i'm watching the show itself! I'm a big fan of tragedy stories mostly because i love seeing the characters pick themselves back up, and i really love the way you portray the emotions here. Its like I can feel exactly whet they're feeling! When Opaline drained Misty's magic, i could feel the betrayal deeply, and when she lifted Misty as a shield, I literally sat up and started waving my arms around as if it could make the mane 5 stop. i said it once, and i'll say it again, this is AMAZING! get ready for the subs to start rolling in! And by the way, you should really consider sending Equestria Daily an email about this, I know a lot of people agree with me that it should be there. It's so good, I'll probably like this one way better than whatever the writers of MYM decide!

This is a quality animatic, it's extremely well made, plus the story feels powerful you do sense a lot of tension and emotions, all around amazing. Unfortunately I don't think the writers will come up with something like that for the main show but we can still hope for it.

Son of- that was emotional. This is the type of content I want out of the show. So much tension, emotion and story all combining. That ending of misty breaking down after opline admits that she was just using misty, got me good.

Bro, this is what needs to happen in Make Your Mark. Opaline's return to power, The Mane Five's loss of friendship power and the betrayal against Misty will really raise the stakes and emotions just as this outstanding animatic presented!😋

In this scenario I could imagine the next episode being about the Mane 5 plus Misty quarantining in the Brighthouse until they form a proper plan against Opaline. Think about it, if they were to leave the Brighthouse, Opaline would spot them and attack them with all that built up rage. The story potential is endless 🤩
Voices were crazy good, and the enigmatic was smooth. This was great, thank you for making it.
