Congrats on the new baby. One word of advice, based on the four we raised and how we saw other parents do things or who didn't do things. Keep to normal noises, sounds etc. If you keep the house ultra quiet and tip toe around your baby will become really attuned to every little noise and you won't be able to have a normal routine. We played tv's at normal levels and had normal voice conversations etc. We'd read this in some baby book years ago and took it to heart, more so after visiting other houses who had newborns and who were doing the whole "Shhh, don't talk to loud etc", and how that worked out for them in the long run. Trevor at Me, Myself & Die! has a great channel. I love how he goes through the mechanics as he plays through a mechanics system. I'd love to see more of this for Savage Worlds, so consider me a thumbs up for you doing that sort of thing! 😀
@@TheSavageGoose Ah, so not your alls first rodeo. :) Good deal, you've already learned all the hard lessons! I will say this though, have care after the second one. We were done after the second one! Weren't as careful on the birth control front and ended up with an accidental pregnancy, ended up with twins. lol. Doubled our baby fun over night as it were.
As someone who loved Choose Your Own Adventure books, I was curious about soloplay games. Picked up and played Starforge. While the rules and book are well written, playing solo was kind of blah. As someone who plays live with others, sitting alone at my desk felt like a sad shadow of gaming.
I'm surprised you didn't mention that the kickstarter for Pathfinder will also include, apparently, the Ninja class and new races like the ifrit. I had just finished running a game of SW today and just before we closed off, one of the players said "well since we are ending, I'd like to cash in all my bennies for power points" Which made me think a little about how that works, and if it's a little hinky.
I missed those updates. Where did you see that? As far as spending Bennies at the end to regain Power Points, there is something that feels bad about it, but it is part of the rules. This is something one of my players does as well, and I do not want to remove this ability he had all game as well, but I know what you mean. Since it is more than just me, I will ponder this a little more.
@TheSavageGoose I like the fun fast furious of SW and it just seems to take a little metagaming with it. Like, you're only taking that action based on outside knowledge of the bennies not being used. That's not what bennies are for. At most, I may even limit it to 1 use at most. It encourages bennies IN GAME. As for the other news...

@TheSavageGoose well. They announced for may 14th. Then immediately changed it to June 4th to not overlap something else. June 4th, just in case you think it's may 14th!

Thanks! She is not our first. We have two boys already so we do not expect the home to be quiet, but what you say makes sense.

Welcome back! And congrats again on the baby girl!
Thank you!!

It is definitely a different experience. It takes some getting used to. Would solo play videos be something you would be interested in seeing?
@TheSavageGoose Im not interested in actual play videos in general. I rather watch videos about settings or interviews with creators.
Congratulations
Thanks!
