Charles Towne Landing, South Carolina’s First Settlement

I visited Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site in May 2021. Charles Towne Landing was the first permanent English settlement in South Carolina. It was founded in 1670 by order of the King. At Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site we saw a very nice museum, a small zoo, a fort, the Adventure (a 17th century sailing ship) and the Legare Waring House.
