May need your help on some parts. Keep up these great videos.
Thanks mate. The situation with bike parts globally is pretty bad, so I assume that in Australia it might be even more difficult to get the right parts.

Hi It says on the speed fun site that you should not use the extender with the speedfun speed modifier. Have you used this with the extender? I have a volabike extender and an orbea extender (my wife) has one but I have the volabike speed modifier which I think is the same thing as yours. I only had it a few rides with the volabike extender and the speed modifier and I found that on 100% level 3 assist going up a hill the motor cuts out if you drop below 8mph which is interesting and not what I expected. Please tell me if this is the case with you. Thanks in advance. I have not tried it yet without the extender or with the orbea battery extender connected. One more thing please. On 100% level 3 with the speed modifier fitted no extender, do you still get the motor assist to get you going from a standing start? soz for all the questions.
Any comments on the speedfun? Does it drastically decrease in power after the natural 23/25km/h natural limit of the bike? Thanks! Did it affect battery life a lot? Also, does the mahle motor drag after assist cuts off?
I’d recommend installing Redshift Sports suspension stem, you might need to change the shape of the understem spacer though to allow for stem movement… I haven’t tried it on Orbea, but I’m using this stem on my gravel bike. Or go with 650B wheels with wider tyres (like I did) and reduce the pressure to 30-35 PSI (or even lower)
Hi, does the assist power change under slow speed climbing? I had the volabike one and with that below 18 km/h the assist was about 50% of what it was without the tuning.
Thank you so much for the video. I have the same bike, and I am looking to update to save weight just like you. However, I would like to keep the wheel size at 700C. Do you have any recommendation when it comes to wheels at this size for upgrade? Thank you.
Had the H10 almost a year now Love the bike but fitted the speed fun ghost and in all honesty can't tell much difference The Mahle app isn't reading the mph and all the measurements are wrong . Any ideas anyone ?
The Speed fun ghost system you installed.... I don't get it...in the US the bike will go 20MPH which seems higher than the Ghost system is giving you... Is the bike sold slower in Europe?
Speed fun gives an increase of 10-13% to what the restriction is. In EU and UK e-bikes are restricted to 25KMH, so it will give you roughly 28-29KMH speed. In the US it will be 22-24MPH.

Fantastic video. Thanks so much for making it. I learned a lot and appreciate your passion and expertise. I've got 2 questions, if you have time to respond. 1. What advantages and/or disadvantages do 650B wheels have as compared to 700cc? And, 2. I'm looking to get my first electric bicycle (I'm an old roadie, 60 years-old living on a very hilly Greek island :)) and I'm curious about your thoughts on a rear hub motor driven e-bike versus a bottom bracket/crank motor driven bike? I'm looking to get the Specialized Turbo Creo road/gravel e-bike which has a bottom bracket/crank motor. Thanks for any reply. Really enjoy your channel. Keep-up the good work!
Thanks! Answers to your questions: 1. I only put 650B wheels because both my wife and I are using this bike and she is much shorter (163cm) than me (182cm), so I wanted to make the bike more comfortable for her (lower centre of gravity, easier to reach the ground with your leg). 2. I believe the bb motors are more efficient when it comes to rolling resistance when you are not pedalling or pedalling without motor support. So if this is a road/gravel bike, I’d probably go for a bb motor. Since speeds in the city are usually below 30km/h, then whatever you choose, bb or hub motor, won’t make much difference
@@TwistedWheels Thanks again so very much for your reply. Appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. Yes, I think I'll be getting an e-bike w/a bb motor with 700cc wheels. :)
Great Video! I’m inspired to copy your upgrades, particularly the muddies, which look great as well as being practical. I wonder how puncture resistant your light weight tyres are? Here in Australia, like the UK, all eBikes are speed limited to 25kmh but interestingly, in New Zealand the same Orbea eBikes have a 35kmh limit…hmm, some hidden software I suspect. I’d love to know how to unlock that extra potential.
Thanks! These are lightweight tyres, so I assume the puncture protection will not be the best in class, I assume, but I’m fine with them so far. Ride quality is amazing. I don’t think you can unlock the 35kmh, unfortunately, but you can buy a bike in New Zealand 😄
@@TwistedWheels lovely answer and lovely bike. I am not having a chance of trying a x35 motor in the hills of Lisbon. Do you think it's a good option to commute in a city with Hill ?

Hey, great informative video. Can I ask, did you get a red/pink flashing light on controller after installing the Speedfun? I did so removed it for now. Thanks.
HI - now own 2 of these (mine and my partner!) due to your videos! - could you advise where you got/model of the rear mudguard seat stay bridge from please?
Haha I wish Orbea has put me on commission for this bike. I could have earned a small fortune 😃 I believe you can buy an Orbea-specific bridge if you contact them, but they were out of stock when I checked. Therefore, I used the one that came with a different bike - Tifosi Cavazzo. I believe there should be some adjustable bridges if you search online
Love the bike looks awesome , I want to buy and change the handle bars to gravel bars do you know if the existing cables are long enough ? how long is the bike handle bars stem ? I am based in the UK London do you take on bike upgrades ? now you have speed fun installed what is the cut off speed now ?
I have recently purchased this bike, I'm in the process of fitting mudguards, but realise now that the Orbea H30 doesn't have a seatstay bridge to fit them to! Can I ask where you got yours from or did it come with the Velodou mudguards? Great video there doesn't seem to be much content on this model so was useful when deciding to go for this bike.
Hey, I believe Orbea sell these bridges separately, but they were out of stock when I contacted them. So I used the bridge from a different bike - Tifosi Cafazzo.
i bought this bike because of these videos, but there is issue i wanted to ask about. sometimes when i drive fast (used a fixie,so strong legs:) its kinda jerky feeling in the back motor. Is it because i drive faster then 25km. Would the "tuning" mod maybe resolve this issue ?
Liked your three vibe videos, do you have any rear-carrier to advice ? I used a topeak one but it is like 900 grammes. It would be awesome if you could suggest some light 700 wheels and explain how do you move the motor from a wheel to another (you probably need special wheels to be able to fit the engine). Changing the frontwheel shoould be much cheaper. Also link toward the cranck would be nice. Did you consider using a cracnk with 2 gear, the problem with the vibe is that past 40-45km/h you don't have any gear left. I really liked the cranck and front gear on your another video but i don't get the model name, it s full carbon so i will probably go for second hand. I also don't know if the front crank is standard, can i just buy any crank or do they have different thickness or even diameter.
Thanks. I can’t advise any rear racks as I have never used one. The motor is the same hub as others, just with bigger flanges, so the process of moving to a different wheel is the same as with standard hubs. Cranks are Sram Red DUB with Garbaruk chainring.
I wish you'd upgraded stem to sth like redshift shockstop suspension stem. That is my next big change on mine Vibe. PS. I also bought this bike thanks to you :)
@@TwistedWheels Right, but they installed it in negative position. With redshift I will go other way to provide space for the bounce. Also notice they added one small ring above the sleeve. You can always go higher with those. Will share results once my stem and seatpost arrive. Anyways... Great channel! Keep it going!
@@MateuszSzumny I’m not saying it is not possible to install it. I’m saying that I didn’t want to compromise the looks. Moreover, I went for 650B wheels with 48mm tyres, so this provides more than enough cushioning for commuting. Share how you manage to get it on yours - it would be interesting to see.
Great bike and video, where did you get the range battery extender from ? Can only find it for OREBA Spanish site but it’s costly ? Any deals out there ? Cheers
oh and a very entertaining review ,which has made me consider buying that model ,do you know how wide i could go on 700 wheels ? and what was the cost of re lacing the rear wheels
I'm looking to pick a Vibe soon but am unsure on the sizing and don't have any nearby that I can check out in advance. I'm 6ft3, what height are you and what size did you go with?
In this video I have XPEDO XMX24MC, but I have now switched to Arclight LED pedals from Redshift sports (just released) which are absolutely amazing in terms of improving your visibility on the road.
Hi, liked your review on this and definitely A1 on weight weeney upgrades! I have a question, is there a chance can we upgrade or covert Vibe into belt driven bike? in this way it could be cleaner and less maintenance to own one. I hope you could share your thoughts on it. cheers! :)
Hi, thanks! Two things here: 1) You would normally need a frame with the split rear seatstay to put the belt through, but I’ve seen this on Eurobike: www.veercycle.com/products/split-belt-pro?variant=39563266424910 This theoretically allows to make a belt drive on any frame. 2) The second question is the gears: with belt drive they need to be either in the rear hub - that wouldn’t work as there is a motor there on Vibe, or you need a gearbox at the bb area, like pinion - but for that you need a special frame, so it will also won’t work. So unless you are happy with a single-speed, the belt drive + gears won’t work. Unless there are belt drives with external gears - I haven’t done a research, so maybe there are… 🤷🏻♂️
@@TwistedWheels I thought there"s a way to do it, sad to know it won't work because of the frame itself. Really like how orbea did with its internal cable routing and the battery in the downtube, sleek and clean. Anyways, maybe they'll release belt-drive version of this soon. Thank you. Cheers! :)
Hey Alexander, thanks! I’m using Sram Red DUB cranks. There is a video on my channel about upgrading this bike: ua-cam.com/video/Zbmv7yxLoBg/v-deo.html
Hey, thanks for answer 😊 I have the Vibe H10 with a 12 speed cassette. Since I find this much too large cassette very ugly and I don’t need 12 gears. I would like to downgrade to 10 speed. What do I have to consider when converting? 10-speed cassette, new shifter, new rear derailleur... Does the freewheel still have to be replaced?
@@alexandergroe5187 I wouldn’t downgrade 12 speed to 10. There are smaller 12-speed cassettes that you can use, for example Rotor 11-39T - it’s not cheap, but you’ll probably save about 400g (!) by replacing just the cassette and also avoid the hassle of changing the whole groupset.
It means you need to tighten the mounts better (squeeze them). I’ve been using them on my road and gravel bikes for over two years and never had a tool keg disconnect from the mount.
Man i am saying this seriusly. I'm from Spain and i proudly ride an Orbea bike. I have some nice german accesories like rear rack, panniers, lights, grips and tires. And my favorite upgrade so far i did to my bike is a B17 saddle, it says "made in England" what a beutifull and brilliant saddle ever made. If i would live in London, i would proudly ride a Brooks saddle
I have just bought an Orbea, to commute to work and back every day. But you're haste to reduce weight always grinds against common sense. If you want a lighter bike have a beer less or a snack less. As a truck driver I see - rather struggle to see in poor light conditions - cyclists who prefer to reduce weight by reducing lights and visibility. You may well say its the responsibility of the car or lorry driver to see you, you may well think you will be suitably compensated if you are knocked off a bike. But having spent time recovering from injuries in a hospital, then you quickly realise just how stupid a few less grams actually saves a whole load of pain. You also realise that compensation will never really cover the cost of pain you go through. Finally, that few grams less will have no impact on that coffin you may well end up in..
Initial response: Got this bike for my friend. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ Delivery was fast. And the friend was surprised I would order it when she had never suggested she wanted anything but the pedal bike she had. She has now ridden the bike two times and gives it a 10 and says it is very fun. We have some hills in our town that are very challenging to climb on a typical bike. But tonight she went up with the pedal assist and loved it. I was way behind on my standard bike, huffing and puffing. Now she is no longer lagging behind me. This thing is powerful enough that a person could go around town without any pedaling. She likes to get some exercise so on flat ground she hits the red button to turn off pedal assist and only uses the twist throttle when she's in a tough spot. The bike looks good. It is really a very nice bike for the friend. Now for me, when I get an electric bike, I'm twice her size and will be looking for a bigger watt motor and battery. But this one is just wonderful for my friend. I am happy with this purchase.

@@TwistedWheels take an existing water bottle which fits in the battery holder with room to spare, and print out a shim to go around the bottle to make it snug. Like the rubber inserts you get on bicycle accessories that go on the hand bars to adapt to the size of bar, if you see what I mean?
Top quality video. I really like the mods and having flexibility about what you want to hook onto your bike. Are you London based? If so, is it something you'd offer doing? I've got the same bike, same lock, same bottle.
Hey, I do. Send me an email or message in Insta.
I cant afford those carbon mudguards. Would 46mmx700 be okay or 55mm x700? Would the 55mm fit between the forks? Any help appreciated!
Sorry, I have 650B wheels, so haven’t tried 700c mudguards. You can do the measures of the frame and fork and decide on the size that would fit.
@@TwistedWheels Hi.Cheers. The EQ has 55mm mudguards ...just checked the spec ...so,I.m assuming the non eq bike is specced similarly. Thanks for the reply ...
Hey, great informative video. Can I ask, did you get a red/pink flashing light on controller after installing the Speedfun? I did so removed it for now. Thanks.
Hey, no I didn’t get any flashing light. Suggest you contact SpeedFun.
@@TwistedWheels will do. Thanks again and safe riding.
HI - now own 2 of these (mine and my partner!) due to your videos! - could you advise where you got/model of the rear mudguard seat stay bridge from please?
Haha I wish Orbea has put me on commission for this bike. I could have earned a small fortune 😃
I believe you can buy an Orbea-specific bridge if you contact them, but they were out of stock when I checked.
Would be nice to see this bike with road bike handlebar. Did you make it? Any experience?
@@andreaslouca4721 No actually , I bought a Cube hybrid pro MTB e bike , and now I have bought a frame and wil be converting that to a gravel bike .
If Orbea support doesn’t help. This is that a good company.
i bought this bike because of these videos, but there is issue i wanted to ask about. sometimes when i drive fast (used a fixie,so strong legs:) its kinda jerky feeling in the back motor. Is it because i drive faster then 25km. Would the "tuning" mod maybe resolve this issue ?
Hi, not sure. It’s better to contact Orbea or the store you bought the bike from.
yeah, terrible customer service here i live. But i will contact orbea. thx
Great bike mate , how is this bike holding up in London town ? Is it still on point ?
I wish you'd upgraded stem to sth like redshift shockstop suspension stem. That is my next big change on mine Vibe.
PS. I also bought this bike thanks to you :)
I was thinking about it, but you have a sleeve for internal cable routing under the stem, so it won’t work or you’ll have to remove the sleeve
@@TwistedWheels That's also my concern, but check our how GCN did it. Doesn't look that bad imo.
ua-cam.com/video/DWrMpTj-SGE/v-deo.html
@@MateuszSzumny they have a standard stem. Redshift needs to move up and down.
Can this Ebike be programmed for 25+ mph?
No
Fascinada
Great bike and video, where did you get the range battery extender from ? Can only find it for OREBA Spanish site but it’s costly ? Any deals out there ? Cheers
Thanks! I bought the extender in the UK. Paid £550 :(
Is the battery replaceable?
I believe it is, but I never tried
Great video! I just got my Orbea H30 Vibe and it’s absolutely amazing. One question: Do you use the mounts provided with the fabric bottle?
oh and a very entertaining review ,which has made me consider buying that model ,do you know how wide i could go on 700 wheels ? and what was the cost of re lacing the rear wheels
Hello there!!! Really liking your videos 👍.
Just wanted to know if you had any long term issues with the Speedfun cable?
Such a greate bike.
Thanks!
Hey, thanks for putting up the video, I am thinking of getting a vibe h30, what kind of millage are you getting on a single charge?
Hello
did you use the Carbon Fibers Mudguards 700C x 40mm or 50mm?
thank you
very cool bike
Hey, yes, they are carbon. I believe they are 58mm x 650B as they need to wrap around 48mm tyres.
@@TwistedWheels
Thank you
did you also change the pedals?
do you have any suggestions for a pedals?
Привет, где купить такие крылья? Очень красивые, может есть ссылка на магазин? Заранее спасибо
Привет, www.veloduo.co.uk
I'm looking to pick a Vibe soon but am unsure on the sizing and don't have any nearby that I can check out in advance. I'm 6ft3, what height are you and what size did you go with?
XL without a doubt. You'll have even more height depending on your shoes.
Thanks for your videos, man. Really useful. Which pedals are you using by the way?
In this video I have XPEDO XMX24MC, but I have now switched to Arclight LED pedals from Redshift sports (just released) which are absolutely amazing in terms of improving your visibility on the road.
Hi, liked your review on this and definitely A1 on weight weeney upgrades! I have a question, is there a chance can we upgrade or covert Vibe into belt driven bike? in this way it could be cleaner and less maintenance to own one. I hope you could share your thoughts on it. cheers! :)
Hi, thanks!
Two things here: 1) You would normally need a frame with the split rear seatstay to put the belt through, but I’ve seen this on Eurobike:
www.veercycle.com/products/split-belt-pro?variant=39563266424910
This theoretically allows to make a belt drive on any frame.
Thank you. Cheers! :)
Great video, great bike! What crankset do you have?
Hey Alexander, thanks!
I’m using Sram Red DUB cranks. There is a video on my channel about upgrading this bike:

Hey, thanks for answer 😊
I have the Vibe H10 with a 12 speed cassette.
@@TwistedWheels OK thank you. I already suspected that the conversion would not work 😤
@@alexandergroe5187 it will work and you’ll even save some money, I just don’t see why you would be downgrading the drivetrain
Nice bike. Is the crankset stock?
Watch this :)

The fabric bottle mounts do not hold very well!!!
As soon as I hit a speed bump it went absolutely flying.
Do that do this to your battery.
It means you need to tighten the mounts better (squeeze them). I’ve been using them on my road and gravel bikes for over two years and never had a tool keg disconnect from the mount.
We wants it.
good bike for the price
All you need is a Brooks B17 saddle
I think I’m good 😊
Man i am saying this seriusly.
@@playth2627 It just doesn’t fit me 🤷🏻♂️
@@TwistedWheels your bike is amazing, specialized saddle is one of the greatest for confort and it looks sweet.
Nice custom bike. Loved your video
I build ebikes in Southern California. Everyone here wants an ebike that goes 70mph.
Haha I want one too!
Hey!!! Dude, Mate… What Up ??? ??? ??? I Ride An EBike Called The “EMotorad” The Model Is The X 1… In Cochin City, Kerala India…
Watch my next video about this Orbea ;)
It amazes me that people could be satisfied with 25kmh with an ebike.
