👁 About this video : This is the all new 4 series convertible from BMW for 2021! The 2021 BMW M440i Convertible was a fantastic car to drive. I really enjoyed it! The all new styling for the BMW 4 series is a bit controversial with the large kidney grilles. But I really like it and it works well for the M440i Convertible. The car has a streamline look and sands out! The interior was very nice with the leather and stitching. Driving the M440i was fun! The top down experience was so nice especially with the air scarf. I was very comfortable with the top down even on a chilly day. Top up cruising you wouldn't even think you're in a soft top convertible car. The turbo engine is very smooth to drive and packs a lot of power! The transmission n the M440i was also lightning quick! The BMW infotainment is also super easy to use and I think fits the car well! Overall I really liked the 2021 M440i Convertible and I think it offers a lot for a comfortable luxury car and drop top sportscar!

I'm not really a convertible guy but I was quite surprised at how good the exhaust note sounds in this one. I can tell the job will get done if you need to merge onto the highway.
This has the same power plant as the Supra. So it’s a very peppy car! And I really like how sport mode sharpens the whole car and it has those capabilities but can then go back into comfort mode and be a great top down cruiser. I’m not into convertibles either. But this is a great option for sure!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed They've had this in 4 series convertibles since 2014. I had a 435i with them in, and now have an M4 with them too. Mercedes has been doing this for well over a decade!

Great review. The rear seat room on this is actually more than a 8 series convertible and it also has cupholders. The 8 has none. My point is this can be fun car for someone with a family.

Seconded. We test drove both the 4 and 8 convertibles. 4 is MUCH more comfy and spacious in the back seat. In truth, the 4 just felt like an all-around better car. 8 is more speedy but far more uncomfortable.

I got my m440i 3 months ago It was only one in Los Angeles when I got it. And Unfortunately the car has alot of electrical issues . I'm having problem with my stereo. And 2 3 times when I was driving the car went of for no reason not happy with it at all. The only good thing is that the car is much faster than u think
Oh dang! That's crazy to hear, at least the stereo should be an easier fix then some other major electrical issues that could of happened. Hopefully that gets fixed soon so you can enjoy it!

Yeah the disc brakes are ventilated.
Where do I find the battery?
The sound in the stereo doesn’t sound. I will try to disconnect the battery and see if it works. Any ideas? Thanks.
Battery is probably under the trunk liner. Might have to take it to the dealer if you're having a problem
On some BMW websites they marketed a CD player. Huge huge huge DISAPPOINTMENT. Could it be considered false advertisement??? Does a buyer have any recourse???
Not sure why that would be listed, this bmw didn’t have a cd player so must be a mistype.

That might be tight. But I'd assume one set could fit. Might have to bring them to the dealer and see!
Why did they do a rag top?
Not too sure. I remember on the old M3's with the hard tops, they would squeak and rattle. So many this is quieter and less prone to making noise

I agree! The hardtops are the way to go to still give you that coupe look! But buyers of this car just want to cruise with the top down lol!
Europe also gets the M440d (uses a biturbo inline six diesel) with 340 horsepower.

The M340d xDrive and M440d xDrive are the fastest diesel vehicles on the market.

They dropped the ball with the cloth roof should've kept the hard top.
I could see the hardtop being the better option at least for the car enthusiast who wants to retain the shape of the car with the "coupe"...but the soft top is lighter!

Not the newer models no! The 21's are just a soft top now! But the older 440's have a hardtop!
That car needs shadowline package, again they need to make Nappa leather optional on the 3/4 series. Have Vernasca in my X3, its durable but not that luxurious.
Yeah I hear yah on that. Would be a nice touch to maybe have some 'luxury package' and have the softer leather. Great car overall tho!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed That or just make it a $1k option like they do on 5 series. Eventually you might be to get it through Individual program but will be $5k. And the car will take much longer to get. But nappa makes a big difference. Vernasca is a tad better than Dakota. Agreed, it’s a great all around car.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed Yeah def would be nice but they don’t. At least for the 3/4. M3/4 aside. X3/4 M has premium leather as well. A $65k car should have ability to get nicer leather.
Yeah you'd think a luxury brand would do that. But I guess most buyers don't care as much. Love that smooth leather!

I'm not sure that will happen! But BMW has some other great coupes like the 430i, m2 and m4!
Nice but nah..the previous gen hard top convertible looked way more aggressive honestly. And looked nicer..Especially with the 666M wheels
I could see the hard top being a better look! I love the tops that don't look like they come down, makes it more of a coupe, but still has that function!
I thought removing the hard top was going to shave some weight but it’s actually heavier. BMW is going backwards, smaller gas tank, no dual piston rear brakes, more expensive. I’ll stick with the previous gen.
Yeah this is heavy! Doesnt feel heavy while driving tho. Felt very nice! I did notice on the retractible hard tops, they squeak a lot over time! That was annoying. So this soft top will probably be much quieter
Would you recommend 4 series coupe or the convertible?
Depends on which one you like to be honest! I personally would get the coupe because it's more sporty and I don't have a need for a convertible. A sunroof on a coupe is cool, but I just don't like convertibles for a personal car. The coupe is usually lighter as well and better for handling, taking back roads or on the track too. But if you never do driving like that and just want to cruise, convertible is good for that!

Really nice car to drive! BMW hasn't done much with their interiors and they could use some updates.
AWD is $10K more, which is required to drive ear round in North East.

Ugh..it’s ugly with those Honda accord or Hyundai rear taillights and they got rid of the hardtop.. rip 4 series. I’ll keep my 435 vert instead. Time to move up to 6/8 series tbh. What a shame BMW.
In person it looks much nicer than pics. The hard tops creek a lot tho. So I think this will be a quieter roof over time
This guy doesn't know the car. The 440 is an AWD and its top speed is not limited to 130 mph. It's at 155 mph
So this is not the xDrive model, so it is RWD, the xDrive is AWD. And depending on the wheel/tires and also location, top speed can be 130. Most USA cars are limited to that, while the European models top out at 155, and this is a USA spec..Glad I could help straighten that out for you :)

In U.S. NO 4 wheel drive yet in the convertible. I own this car red interior on white exterior. It helps to know facts before you post.

@@jlam6449 I drove a few hard top previous generation M3’s and those things rattled so much. So I’m sure they went to a soft top because of that. But it’s a big car to take the roof away. But it doesn’t feel like a heavy car on the road tho

What specifically don't you like about the new BMW front end? I think it looks way better on the M cars like the M3/4!
0-60 5s,,,,,,it's way slower than it rivals
About a half second slower then the S5 Convertible. But with tuning, the B58 can pack another 100 HP and 150 torque. So it can be much faster

The hard top squeaked a lot tho over time! I sold a tone of the previous gen cars and they all squeaked. This was very quiet

So, now that I’ve seen a few in person, I freakin love it! Man, that grill grows on you! It’s as if BMW is challenging you to love or hate it, whilst screaming its presence, right in your face! Definitely want one of theses! (Wheels on this one still suck, however.)
