Great farm mate, very best of luck with it. Also love that you are putting Australia back on shortwave. Loads of room now to play radio.
Kindest regards from Thailand David.

I discovered your channel looking for what it's TRULY like to know Australian culture, to be in Australia, my dream destination. Have searched for radio clips of the past, news stories, even Gough Whitlam, Smacka Fitzgerald, and Bob Hawke! And I'm just a guy in Miami who's also an amateur radio operator. But to my delight I discovered this channel with your vintage Australian recorders and transmitting equipment. Then realized you were in news yourself, and your video "in a day's work 1992" was an eye opener with yourself right in the middle of the action. 60's and 70's recordings, Clive Robertson, and finally your video of Citizens Streaming News, and your commentary on the old journalism vs. today was golden. I just want you to know how much you are appreciated and how in debt we are to your historical archive. Means more than you can imagine. Thank you!
Thanks for the thoughtful comments, Australian culture and lifestyle is somewhere between English and Nth American and i find i can feel at home in both places, going by the times i have visited them. Away from the cities the Australian identity is a reflection on the landscapes and space.
@@vk3ase I appreciate your reply as I wanted you to see this comment so that you are reminded of the power of UA-cam where one can have an impact on anyone anywhere. Great technological times we live in.
I genuinely believe that I'd be right at home in places like Melbourne, maybe even Sydney in the summer, as it seems the parallels to Miami are enormous. Although the older architecture in your country is very much like the Wild West era of America, have a look at the houses in the suburbs of small towns like Kendall and Westchester (in Miami) and they are almost the same! Different to any other part of the US. Fascinating for sure. Please always keep on with both your brilliant channels! 73
Looks great, can't wait to see the antenna farm projects.
Wowed. That looks amazing. So much to enjoy.
Thanks
Nice tree change im envious ☺ l got 7.5 acres south of Ballarat if l had my time again l would get at least 500 acres 90 hour north of Horsham with room for own ultralight airstrip
Thanks for sharing Dave. It's a beautiful setup, love the front gates. Finally a farm for all those antennas, the kangas will love it. Looking forward to further updates. cheers, Marty VK3AKG
Thanks Marty.
Looks fantastic, lots of new adventures to come, good luck, Mike from the UK.
Can't believe it Dave.. good on you and congrats..
Looks Fabulous 👌
Oh Dave...how envious I am, plenty of room for some good antenna the noise floor on 160 must be fantastic and the night sky must be equally brilliant...I wonder how much it's cost you, how big is the acreage too...it looks delightful...Cheers enjoy the rest of your lives....Clint - VK3CSJ
Wow thanks for sharing Mr Stu. Now you'll know how much city living sucks.

I will add some vids of the development.
Nice ! .👍
Thanks ✌️
Fantastic Dave. Can't wait to have a radio contact with you. We can talk about fences, livestock and complain about both drought and floods. VK3TPM
I will get the peddle radio out.
wow lucky you!
Ideal location for a pirate hf station.
There will be one but it won't be pirate.
Plenty of room for aerials.... woo hoo! Now who sells coax by the kilometer (and not that thin stuff)? Great work Dave! 73's
Yes even at the relatively low frequency's loss is quite substantial after a few hundred meters.
@@vk3ase It becomes more like "ohmic" loss down at broadcast or longwave frequencies. Took me a bit to get it when I first realised what was going on. Then because it's always on power and it's usually AM with processed audio. There is a bit more current in the coax. Down there the "pf per meter" will allow full power will reach the end of 160m run (1 wavelength at 1611khz). Even with RG213.... But the DC ohmic resistance won't do you any favours! You'd still run LDF450 (or equivalent) minimum.
What about a remote setup? Where only the display data and the audio comes and goes from the "actual hut"?
cheers
160m Beverage or a Rombic or moon bounce UHF .....Niccceee
KiwiSDR Miniwhip antenna right now 4835khz carrier -60dBm, 2310khz -85dBm located Ballarat south
Nice place! You going to move all the radios there too?
The better stuff and spares and things, good time to sort out whats real junk.
watch out for the snakes now lol
Looks good! Are you still in Victoria ?
yes
@@vk3ase looks like NSW
Mmmmm.......Rombic country.
How are you going to sleep at night without the constant sounds of trains, sirens and cars?
And the police helicopter hovering around all night.
Skippy BBQ?? :) Full size top band antennas!!! Looks idyllic. Thanks for sharing. de VK2AOE
