I think the most shocking part of any of these cases is the short sentences these people are getting. Many are going to get out when they're young enough to keep committing crimes! And you can't fix some folks. And by "some folks", I mean people that heartlessly commit murder!
Our legal system is a joke.

"Prosecutors conceded during Pietz’s month long trial that there was a lack of witnesses and DNA evidence. However, during testimony and in closing arguments, Senior Deputy Prosecutor Kristin Richardson cited circumstantial evidence she said warranted a conviction.
Richardson claimed Pietz had grown tired of Nicole, was unfaithful, wanted a more creative sex life and was “cold and callous.” She said Pietz strangled his wife during an argument in their condominium.
He then dumped her body in the woods.
This deserves more than 20 years FFs.
