Paladin is the name of a character in the western "Have Gun Will Travel" from 1957. Stunning that a small child in the late 80's didn't get the reference
Guys HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL was a western TV show back in the late 50’s. The lead character was Paladin. If you’ve ever seen Stand By Me they sing the title on the way to find the dead boy.
he missed out on some sexy cars.... Pontiac Le Mans, VW Golf, Nissan Sentra, Plymouth Colt, Chrysler LeBaron convertible, Toyota Corolla, Mitsubishi Mirage and king of the mountain is obviously the Jeep Comanche pick-up
The original reference for paladin that Trebek was making is from a TV series called “Have Gun Will Travel.” Original release: 14 September 1957 - 20 April 1963 according to google. The protagonist played by Richard Boone was named Paladin.
Every time I hear “Welcome back to the show we’re gonna watch some...” my heart briefly skips a beat because I am taken back to a time where at any point I could watch one of the greatest and most underrated series in UA-cam history. Thanks GSN.
Pretty sure I found Kelley Jenkins in the Whitepages. If so, she lives in Ohio now, has a mother Joan, and married one David Ching. Don't know if she did commercials. "People are gonna stalk her now, Trebek." Nailed it hahaha. The pictures of Tarrell Howard are, well, interesting...
A "paladin" was a knight in the service of the 9th Century Emperor Charlemagne. There was a western on TV in the 1950s called "Have Gun, Wil Travel" where the character was named Paladin and he was a gun for hire. Theme Song: ua-cam.com/video/tgvxu8QY01s/v-deo.html
"Paladins" were holy knights in Charlemagne legend who specifically defended "Christendom" during the Saracen invasions. The name was eventually picked up in places like the Western referenced, as well as being a character class of holy warriors in many popular paper and pen and computer Role Playing Games.
"Pontiac LeMens" Two of those cars are still on the road; the Corolla and the Comanche. I had that Fisher Price radio. In fact, I listened to Yankees games on it and would pretend to do play-by-play.
@@cheighes1 That, too, but I also literally meant like those years are still on the road, not just the model. VWs are usually pretty reliable but it's really really rare now to see an '88.
You'd think if you saw the show before you'd have a strategy like I want to guess as many times as possible because that increases the odds that I'll win the game. And then just guessing the weird ass numbers makes it more confusing you just have to go down the list and then eventually you'll get some early matches which will make the proceeding guesses easier. Weird that people wouldn't intuitively guess this but I guess there are nerves involved too
Zach confirmed as the only guy in the room who ever played an indoor game in his life. How the hell do you go 35 years and don’t know what a paladin is
I don't know how interested you guys are in news fails but if you like it there are channels that make monthly compilations dating back to years ago, so if you like it you would have hours of content. It is published already by a third party. I suggest news be funny or funny local news, but of course if you like that type of thing. Great video as always.
I'm really surprised neither the comments nor Jimmy and Jake or Zak said anything about Star Wars cause that's the only thing I know the word "Paladin" from.
I love how he Googles the most generic part "Paladin" instead of searching "Have Gun Will Travel" which would've answered everything. "What was the gun reference?" "Because they're knights!" (facepalm)
I’m sorry, but if you’re a parent and you name your kid Paladin, you probably need to be sent off to some middle eastern prison to contemplate things. Kids are so cute though. So sweet and innocent.

It’s cause they’re knights, dude. 🤣
A knight without armor in a savage land
Paladin Paladin

Hasn’t anyone seen stand by me

😂 💀
I always look forward to these. This series has filled the "Baggage" void left behind (thanks a lot GSN).
It’s good, but baggage can never be replaced. “I’m short and you’re tall BUT THAT DOESNT MATTER!”

Yeah, I had no idea what Have Gun Will Travel was until I watched Stand By Me again and decided to Google to figure out what they were singing.
@@dylanhuculak8458 yeah it was actually a really good show for a ‘50s TV western. Paladin was great and complex character
Zac trolling jake “do you think he’s named after a knight or a nutrient” made me cry laughing
Fucking great 👍
“I wanna know who made these cars” completely ignores segment where the cars are introduced
I was thinking the same thing😂😂

My dad is always shocked when people haven't seen a western show from the 1960s 😂
I dont understand why ppl dont blurt out numbers as fast as possible at the last round. Theyre always like 12..................9...*ding*
Probably to give themselves a second to store it in their memory.
Classic Jomboy and Jake to ask what all the cars are in the beginning of the show and then be distracted when they are announced
2:45 'With overhead flashing lights, *ALEX!* "
The announcer didn’t want to be at work that day 😂
Every time I hear “Welcome back to the show we’re gonna watch some...” my heart briefly skips a beat because I am taken back to a time where at any point I could watch one of the greatest and most underrated series in UA-cam history. Thanks GSN.
PAL still wears that man’s ski parka till this day
he needs it to keep warm while he's living in a VAN... DOWN BY THE RIVER
NGL i live for these two uploads every week. Helps me kill my morning at work haha.
the boys trying to figure out what a paladin is and not catching the old western show reference made me feel like such an old nerd
just brutal
“Freckles, no teeth.” 😂😂
My wife and I request that you up the frequency of the Watchins. Please & thank you.

Never thought I’d hear a “Have Gun, Will Travel” reference.
From Alex? He had fully grey hair when he was born
"Would he be named after a knight or a nutrient?"
Zach with the sass.
How did you guys not know what a Paladin was?! That's a dope ass name.
18:15 This cracks me up so much. It's so savage
At 8 minutes when he said "I love you" I felt that. Hope Tarrell is doing well.
I remember the Suddenly Salad boxes from the '90s as a kid

These prizes seem like junk from the producers garage. "Man's ski parka, 10 cup coffee set" in a kids game, ROFL!
21:58 HE'S CRYING!
Paladin was the name of the main character on the old western from the 50s Have Gun, Will Travel
That explains trebeks lame comment.
Pat and Esther needed to shift into a higher gear. Way too slow for the car.
“Did Trebek spit on him?” Funniest thing I’ve heard all week
I love watching these! Jake, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY OF 21!
Pal/Pat greatest team ever? She's amazing at puzzles, he had ALL the answers for Trebek.
they didn't win a car. So no.

Like Cecil the Paladin from Final Fantasy IV

That look Jake gave Jimmy about the Knights with guns 😂😂😂
Oh, and Suddenly Salad is still out there, doing the damn thing.
The sister's name is obviously: Pam
Father's name is gotta Paul
Way to go boys
I'll call you Tarrell, Tarrell, even if no one else will (not even the studio announcer guy at 08:38)

Have gun with travel leads the card of a man. A knight without armor in a savage land.
I remember it from Stand By Me
@Jomboy and Jake when are y’all going to do a live stream on UA-cam?
It’s an old western show!!! Have gun will travel reads the card of a man I knight without armor in a savage land
The family is Mom Pat, son Pal, dad Al, sister Sal. And Sal is short for Salamander or something.
Margaret looks like Lil Debbie
I wanted to hear that Jake Oreo AMSR
Zach confirmed as the only guy in the room who ever played an indoor game in his life. How the hell do you go 35 years and don’t know what a paladin is
Tarrell's mom is a dead ringer for former Piston great Charlie Villanueva
Pat is a choke artist
I refuse to believe alex trebek wasnt always doing jeopardy

What's up with all these mothers taking their sweet time during the car round. These mothers need to step it up.
It genuinely pisses me off how slowly they go in the car rounds. Let's fucking go Janet!!!!
Nice
jomboy is grumpy in this one
Jake can't finish his lunch before recording? 😂
The sisters name was definitely Pam right?
Have Gun will Travel is so good
Sister’s name could be Pam
Obviously the sisters name is Pam
These two obviously never played Age of Empires II.
Jomboy with the video game breakdown. A role he has chosen, or maybe it has chosen him. #gary
They need to reboot this show. If only just to give Pat a chance to compete in the regular format.
I love how he Googles the most generic part "Paladin" instead of searching "Have Gun Will Travel" which would've answered everything.
"What was the gun reference?"
"Because they're knights!"

Why are they SO SLOW!!!!
You think he's named after a knight or a nutrient?
Knights with guns 😆
Why do they say the numbers so slowly and why do they use such a weird strat for the numbers?!
The moms on these episodes are so damn slow...killing me watching them do the car round.
Tarrell looks like he’s 30 at 8
Do people realize they can get more guesses at the car if they speak faster? It's so frustrating to watch these people!
Unsubscribed. How dare you say the Le Baron “sucks”. That was my first car!
Every time the model shows off the prizes, she always acts like she doesn't know how to use it.
I’m not sure they’re acting.
They are so fucking SLOW in the last round, wtf. Just rattle off the numbers people!
Alex Trebek quit Jeopardy for this show???
Freckles, no teeth..
I gotta be honest boys, I just don't think Kelley is that interesting of a name.
guys dont get star trek or paladin references? weak boys
