The Unveiling and Blessing of the Information Board at Kilshannig Graveyard
The video is the culmination of many years of hard work, clarifying and recording the graves in this unique graveyard. The ancestors of many famous people are buried here. Errol Flynn, actor has roots here, as does a Prime Minister of New Zealand, Princess Diane, Nano Nagle....
Listen to Donnie O'Sullivan explain the occasion and especially John Joe Kavanagh giving the context of the graveyard. The Blessing of the special Notice Board is given by Meurig Williams, Church of Ireland Minister, and the Catholic Canon Casey. The blessing is unique as it brings together, in harmony and peace, the two forces in Irish history that were so much in conflict in the area at one time.
