It is just as valuable for me to see your students learn a technique as it is to see you perform it properly, as it lets me see ALL the physical and mental issues that the exercise helps the student work through. Thank you.
After you achieve the exercise in string crossing, you may use it for change of position on the same string or even fingering. It ist a big help for precision.
Does the elbow height remain stationary with some crossings? I'm thinking of the bariolage motion in the allegro of Handel's Sonata no. 3, Suzuki bk 6.
I always love your explanations and demonstrations. Very informative :) I think this is the best UA-cam channel for violin/viola (I'm a viola player) instruction
Thank you, but it's pretty cool of the student to help us, so thank you Miss student as well :) . Showing us these exercises is good, but it's even better understood when someone does them the first time and you guide them (like I will today). :)

Hi my name is Esther and how to play the violin.
Thanks soo much!
Which piece is this?
This is from a new cadenza to the Beethoven violin concerto by Arsentiy Kharitonov
It's 1 am and I can't wait for the sun to rise so I can try this exercise. It looks promising because I face these problems as well.
Hats off to the students who play on here! Chapeau!

Hello mam
Thank you so much! You are an amazing teacher 💞
❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much
It works for me to put the wrist movement before D string gives me the balance.
The exercise is specifically for the elbow motion - no wrist movement on purpose
Nice
