He looks great compared to literally ever other mainline release of this character. I'll take it.

I got this a few days ago. The head sculpt is fantastic, and for the price point, this is a definite buy considering the cost cuts and mass market manufacturing requirements. It's essentially an affordable masterpiece dinobot. And this is LIGHTYEARS better than the original dinobot figure we got years ago. The engineers who worked on this should be given a medal.
I am eagerly awaiting my delivery of this Dinobot figure. Was my hands-down favourite in all of Beast Wars.
The honorable warrior graces our presence once more!
I'm trying not to spend money on anything I don't legitimately need right now... but I'll break that rule for this if I see him anywhere :P
My head canon is this: the transformer species are used to scanning and being able to transform into non organic disguises. With that said, it would probably be more difficult for them to copy something that is alive, hence why there are still some mechanical parts showing on the figures. It might be difficult to entirely copy what they are trying to transform into, like not being able to entirely recreate an organic outer body.

Even though the weapon storage isn't the best, it IS faithful to Beast wars where when Dinobot transforms from beast mode, we see his tail in the back for a few seconds
Just need Airazor, Tigatron and Rhinox to go for the Maximals.

Hell yeah!!! I've been waiting for this... now if only Kapow Toys would start taking orders from European customers again then I'd actually have this figure in hand. I hate being in lock-down... Great review though!
Kingdom Ultra Magnus and Inferno can eat slag. This guy and Airazor are all I want. Oh and Huffer maybe.

Ok seriously what's wrong with Kingdom Megatron's beast mode? It's fantastic! Yeah it has some panel lines, but ESPECIALLY compared to Dinobot, who has obvious robo parts, Megatron's is fantastic.

JP's Raptor was the size and looks of a Utahraptor.
the Velociraptor size is same as a Turkey.

The robot mode is definitely the highlight of this figure. The beast/dino mode is...fine, not perfect, but fine.
But that robot mode man...
It's nice to finally have a proper, non-Masterpiece Dinobot figure in a main Transformers line, considering the previous ones we did get never quite hit the mark.

With all the Dinobot figures we've had over the years, this is certainly the most accurate, aside from the Masterpiece one, it may not be perfect, but it still looks really good, especially the robot mode, I have the Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Dinobot in my collection and the Transmetal 2 Dinobot, can't wait to see what else is coming for the Kingdom line, don't know if we'll be getting all of the Beast Wars characters, but that would be amazing! When it comes to scale this probably the they have done on the chug line ever.
Nice review, I think the weakest part of Dinobot here are his arms they look weird and his hands obviously this was a little trickier as his hands didn't look like the way they do in his beast mode, but I can see how this would be a challenge for the toys. Other than that, I think he's perfect. Size wise I think he's about right, he wasn't the same size or close to Megatron, but I'd say the second biggest Predacon in season 1. I think he's about right size wise. I feel Rattrap should be a tad bigger, I know he's a rat and all but he seems like super tiny like in the show he was slightly shorter than Blackarachnia the toys he's way smaller than her lol.

Hit the nail on the head with the beast mode issues. The robot mode feet could have easily been integrated better, and the beast claws are awful.
I like the figure but I hate how the upper leg panels on the dino mode don't always stay together.

To be fair to jurassic Park, they said from the very beginning that their dinos were created by splicing in frog DNA. Their appearance is definitely going to be skewed.
They said that's how they did it, but it wasn't until Jurassic World that that reasoning was used to explain why some looked different. That was just them kinda, retconning things they previously did and said

I don't really have a problem with robot mode stuff sticking out in beast mode, with Beast Wars characters it's going to happen no matter what you do. My only problem with this figure is the sword. WHY IS IT PURPLE!? IT LOOKS TERRIBLE! I wish the inside of the spinning tail shield was painted red, and that the bone details on his legs were painted, but I'm not as mad about those as I am about the STUPID PURPLE SWORD! Seriously, all they had to do was paint it silver! Also, what's up with people leaving the sword in the spinning tail shield and just leaving him like that thing? He never did it in the show (from what I remember at least) and doesn't even look good. How are you supposed to even use that as a weapon anyway?
his thigh joints are way too tight, super scared of his inner-leg part snapping in stress over time

@@optibotimus Sure express your opinion, but you should do so knowing what you’re getting at the price point. You nagged on so many terrible points as if this should have takara master piece or even 3rd party MP expectations. Your bar should be way lower especially in the engineering department
