Put it in the text books. I am so glad this story was aired. If you get to watch the PBS series, The Underground Railroad, there are an amazing number of stories of slaves and their
rescuers making their way to free states, and after those were not sufficiently protective, to Canada. Lots of wonderful stories.

7th,8th and 9th grade spent there in the 60ʻs.

Ironic 1810 was not a very good year for labor on Oahu...Think of all the ships with forced labor coming from Portugal, China, Japan, Philippines. King Sugar needed low cost workers. Were they slaves or paid slave wages.
