Recto Updates - L1CEP

WATCH: Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto recently conducted a site visit at Dr. Santos Avenue Station, which is part of the first phase of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1 South (Cavite) Extension Project (L1CEP).
As a whole, the L1CEP will add an 11.7-kilometer (km) rail line to the existing 20.7-km LRT-1 system, traversing the cities of Parañaque, Las Piñas, and Bacoor, Cavite with a satellite depot in Zapote. This will boost economic activity outside Metro Manila.
The first phase of the L1CEP consisting of five new stations: Redemptorist-ASEANA, Manila International Airport (MIA) Road, Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), Ninoy Aquino Avenue, and Dr. Santos Avenue, will be operational before the end of 2024.
Package 1 is expected to cut travel time between Baclaran to Dr. Santos Avenue, Parañaque from the current 20 to 40 minutes via local roads to just 14 minutes.
