There’s no point even trying to compare Ben and Callum to Syed and Christian because their storyline was so unique they were made for eachother, it was such a powerful storyline to be told back then it reminded me of how Rana and Kate’s storyline started in Coronation Street, because again Rana was battling with her feelings for Kate alongside what her religion meant to her.

The stories are similar. Both Ben and Callum struggled with familial and societal expectations just like Christian and syed. No one is "made" for anyone. They chose to be together no matter what the world thinks. However being in his second gay bashing seems to have driven Ben back into the closet

They could have a cameo kind of thing, like the current storyline with Tamwar and nancy's divorce- Tamwar could return wanting to talk to Nancy but visit his brother to get advice.
I wonder if in a few years they might have Syed and Amira's daughter return to the square to kick up some trouble.

Religious ideals were formed in ancient age when man’s understanding was limited and unfortunately 2000 years ago man believed in evil spirits and the devil and in black-and-white and good and evil and possession and silly things that are not the determinants of sexuality. They probably believed the Earth was flat, they believed that the Earth was the centre of the universe, they believed that the universe was probably the only universe and that God spent all his time watching over his creation mankind. They didn’t know about dinosaurs or Neanderthals ! genetics and hormones and yet they want to follow these ancient rules because if you start dismantling the rules you dismantle religion, and they lose the hope of order and paradise

Read about it I am a Muslim revert I learned about Islam myself and its nothing what the media says. Alot of people compare and mix culture and religion and forget the difference.

White. Colonial. Fantasy. The white savior rescuing the brown person. Let’s try a new storyline. The brown Muslim boy who takes in a white working class immigrant.

Look up actual cases of muslims coming out as gay, the only fantasy in this story is that the family eventually accepted him. In the real world they'd have more likely killed him. So yes he does need saving, the race of the saviour is irrelevant. A white muslim would probably be just as much a bigot...
