I want to know what the relevance of the height of working area and wall height in the assesment zone/workplane is with the results I am getting from calculation. Do I always have to consider only perpendicular lux avg?

Where do you have to place the calculation object? in front of the window? behind the window? Between the glass? I have tried everything. But the result is very strange. Or if the results appear to be good then the iso lines are very strange. can you help me?
That really depends on, if you need to fulfill any daylight norm or guideline (like for offices). In Germany we have something like the DIN 5034 as norm and there are guidelines from the VDI. Otherwise you would probably go for the relevant surfaces. DIALux evo 7 automatically produces isolux lines after the calculation, but you can turn them off, if they are not needed. You can also adjust the isoluxlines for the values that are important to you.

Great tutorial! Thanks for posting, but I'm having some issues with calculation. I get the calculation error message, I already searched it online and all I could find is that the cause is due to large projects but mine is pretty small (there's only 1 room) and I still get the error :( I'm using Dialux evo 7, could I get some help?
Thank you and sorry for the late reply! There is a variety of possibilities that can cause your problem.. Have you contacted our support or posted to the DIALux board in the meantime? Our support is free of charge. Here is the link: www.dial.de/en/software/dialux/free-dialux-support/

I am not sure, if I got the question right... For geometry of buildings: evo.support-en.dial.de/support/solutions/articles/9000067047-how-to-modify-the-geometry-of-buildings-or-rooms For luminair housings: With evo 6.2 you have the possibility to enter the geometric dimensions for the luminaire housing and luminaire output surface. This option will only be offered for IES files.

Did you find your answer? If you are in need of isolux lines you can break you workflow down to this: Two aspects to be regarded: You have to activate the visibility of Isolux lines in the view options (use the monitor icon on the right upper side of the screen) and choose the surfaces for which you want to have isolines (in the calculation objects sector).
Wow, you soud just like Christoph Waltz !
