what?? they might not be super close friends but the respect is still there. It's common for a player to stick around mostly with his countrymen
@@anseinueseima408 of course there is a high level of mutual respect but nothing beyond that, when you compare the relationship they had say 10 years ago to now theres certainly been a decline like i can’t imagine them playing golf together anymore

They respect each other as tennis players that is the main thing . They are very different personalities and characters and different beliefs in life. It was Novak that said he could never regard Rafa as a friend because he was a rival. As long as they have a professional respect for each other that is fine and good enough.

I remember in a different time when Newcombe and Roche played each other in US Open and every once in a while they would try to out-mini-dropshot each other for 4-6 strokes --- it seemed both agreed only a particular type of cute shot could be hit so very entertaining ....

Nice to see them both have fun in 2014 but something has changed the last 5 years, they respect eachother but its not very sincere when they are both oncourt, its cold. Nadal is a nicer guy but the same as Djokovic, he is very eager and wants the records so bad, but he isnt as explicit as Djokovic is. They have similar personalities in my opinion.

They respect and appreciate each other, Nadal and Federer always struggled to smile or made warm handshake after loosing especially against Djokovic because Nadal/Federer are closer friends, but that doesn't mean they don't like Djokovic.
Federer seemed to be annoyed that Djokovic came and started dominating more and more but did accept through the years to respect him more.
And we've seen how respectful and close they could be in Laver Cup, what you see in a match doesn't reflect all of their traits and personnality, they're rivals on the court but outside of a court they're different persons.
