the reason you have 2 elites firing at once is because you plugged the air release hole leading to the elite smart AR system. A plunger tube of that power can force air through parts of the smart AR where it's not supposed to. To prevent that from happening, leave the holes in the white tube open.
+Billy Dinsdale Better even. 2 hammershots molded together with an unified trigger. Both with 8kg orange modworks spring, a 7 round cylinder and a post apocalyptic/borderlands paintjob.
Hey Drac I think you should make a sister blaster along with the code breaker stryfe using the red battery door. Use a red cryptic film instead of green.
what might be happening is there's so much air after the plunger mod that the second dart fires, a/r closes, and there's still enough air to push out the third.
Hey Drac, I'm Aussie and in my local Kmart (Aussie I think?) and we have the nerf zombie strike cross cut! I don't know if it came out were I am first or its come out for you now and you haven't seen it?
love that intro has that 80's Vibe to it keep up the Awsome Content i don't even own a nerf gun but i enjoy watching you video's by far you are my Favorite Nerf youtuber and your way more Tacticool then Coop lol
i feel like this could be a good base for making a m4 or m16 style assault rifle working cosplay. you pretty much already have the upper and lower in a good place, with a working priming handle in pretty much the right spot
Hey drac i was wondering if you ever or ever plan on making a mod guide to fix the double stick so that the bottom elite barrel will shoot with out flying out on accident when you fire the top 2 barrels but thank you for making this mod guide it made my double strike shoot much better then its stock form and continue on what you are doing and you rock
I know I'm late to the party, but can you cover the smart AR part? I'm thinking of tearing it apart to use as a shotgun setting. It seems like it makes enough power to work.
PLEASE HELP, I have this dual strike and the switch is not moving, fresh out of the box and the switch is just not moving can you please help me with this problem?
Can you help me, the switch is not working it's kind of stuck, I am not able to shoot the mega darts as , the switch is not coming done, what should I do?
hey Drac, I'm a long time viewer,I learn from everything you say on this channel and I've had a few questions on modding the nerf zombie strike lever shot or whatever it's called, its the gun with the lever cocking mech, what would you do to the gun?
+NobodyXIV I had the idea giving it a slight barrel extension giving it a banana mag (Likely 10 round nerf one), a sight like those found on longstrikes. Paint the stock to give it a wood-grain feel. Paint the blaster itself a chrome or metallic silver, wether it and Viola! You have the assault rifle from Wolfenstein: New Order video game
Almostbauws BoomCo is a copy of Nerf, just with clips and sticky darts. So if you see his new video about the ThunderCover, it even says 'A BoomCo Jolt?' in the title. So most BoomCo are copies of Nerf blasters.
I get that the slots in the plunger tube are to in effect shorted the plunger tube while making you think you satisfied by thinking you have the full length..for some weird marketing reason. But, why in the world would you put a hole in the tube going between the switch and the ar??? I cannot think of any reason whatsoever that that would be any logical reason. Any ideas?
+josh hightower Edited version of a previous post on reddit (bit.ly/1QSWkeb): The vented air cylinder isn't necessarily a bad thing, in fact it _may_ even be _beneficial_ to performance (past a certain point increasing the volume of the air cylinder relative to the volume of the barrel won't benefit you much anyway since the dart will leave the barrel before the piston has even completed it's stroke - this is most likely why a Longshot performs worse than a Retaliator with an equivalent spring load despite it's greater air cylinder volume - yet, with a vented cylinder, there will be less resistance to the motion of the piston early in it's stroke which should allow it to reach a greater velocity before sealing and pressurising the air infront of it, much like how most Elite blasters up to this point use tapered cylinders that only seal fully during the last inch or so of the piston stroke). It'll also aid the entry of air into the cylinder as the blaster is primed (although it looked as though the piston also had a "floating" o-ring to allow this - a feature which Drac subsequently removed by adding Teflon tape which, incidentally, reduces performance as, if not more, often as it increases performance). The vents in the barrels themselves (and the varying diameter of the vent holes - largest on the first barrel with no hole on the last barrel) are most likely to account for the additional losses of the cascading air path and to normalise the dart velocities (i.e. prevent the first shot performing significantly better than subsequent shots). If you seal these you probably would increase the velocity of darts fired from the first two Elite/Mega barrels but also reduce the consistency between barrels. That's a trade-off that might/might not be worth it depending on what you want. The vent in the path to the Elite barrels is an interesting one. The system was most likely tuned to work with Mega darts first, since they require more force to achieve equivalent performance, and that vent hole was added later as a way of reducing the Elite dart performance to within toy-spec. Probably the first one to think about sealing. I may well be wrong about one or more of the above statements but without an actual test (i.e. not a range test) of the effect of each individual "improvement" (i.e. not a test after performing multiple individual modifications which may have had individual positive and/or negative contributions to the final performance) I can't say for sure.
+SSGT So basically: The best way to shoot a dart is with a short hard burst of air instead of a longer less hard stream of air, at least for short barreled blasters. The vents allow for piston acceleration. The loose O-ring is on purpose as an air inlet for priming. The post-switch vents are for consistency and "safety". Did I understand that right? Also, if I understand the physics right, the "ideal" cylinder would be short with a wide diameter and have acceleration vent holes. And I can see the O-ring helping with priming, but other than it maybe helping with the acceleration a tiny bit, how how could improving the seal degrade firing performance?
+josh hightower "The best way to shoot a dart..." Essentially, yes. You want to generate as much pressure behind the dart as you can _before_ the dart starts to move (higher pressure for a given barrel diameter = a greater force to propel the dart = greater acceleration of the dart = greater muzzle velocity and therefore range). Getting the balance right is complicated though. If you vent the air cylinder (or, as per most other Elite air cylinders, use a tapered cylinder that only fully seals some way down it's length) you can generate more pressure before the dart starts to move. The alternative is a tighter fitting barrel but that increases the frictional force between the dart and the barrel which acts against the force generated by the pressure behind the dart (a full length tight-fitting barrel can also hinder performance and ideally you want a barrel that is tight fitting at the back to hold the dart in place whilst pressure builds but is looser nearer the front to reduce friction after the system has generated as much pressure as it can achieve - note that this is exactly how standard Nerf barrels are designed although that isn't to say that they have been fully optimised). Note also that if the dart has left the barrel whilst there is still air left in the air cylinder the AR for that barrel will close and the remaining air will cascade down to the next dart - most likely why Drac found that his last Elite dart kept falling out. If you have a longer barrel you need a larger air volume to supply it but everything else _should_ remain true (although you'll start reaching practical limitations). "The loose O-ring..." The "floating" o-ring design allows air to enter as you prime but note that it seals against the back of it's groove and against the inner wall of the cylinder as you fire. It seals just fine but only if the piston is travelling in the right direction. It is there to prevent "vacuum loading" if a dart was left in the barrel which, at best, reduces performance (less air in the cylinder since no air could be drawn in when priming) and, at worst, causes the dart to be drawn into the cylinder instead. "The post-switch vents..." That's my guess anyway. Note how the holes on the first barrel of each set is larger than the hole on the second barrel and that there is no hole on the last barrel. As the air cascades through the AR block it will incur pressure losses due to bends, changes in effective "pipe" diameter etc. My guess is that the venting on the barrels is to account for that. Sealing them will likely increase performance of the first two barrels of each set but the performance of all three barrels will be different. "the "ideal" cylinder" You can achieve higher pressures for a given spring load if the air cylinder is narrower since Pressure=Force/Area (P=F/A). A greater area equals a lower pressure given the same force. You also incur greater losses at the transition between the air cylinder and the barrel (any sudden change in pipe diameter will incur a pressure loss). Too small a diameter is just as bad though as a smaller diameter will result in increased resistance to airflow and will result in a reduced volume of air (you need an air cylinder with an volume greater than that of the barrel - if the volume of the cylinder is too low the pressure in the system will drop below atmospheric before the dart even leaves the barrel adding an additional resistive force). "how could improving the seal degrade firing performance?" Friction, plain and simple. Friction is dependant on the properties of materials in contact and the reaction force between the materials and any additional friction between the piston and cylinder will act against the force provided by the spring. If you improve a seal you make it tighter which increases the reaction force and hence the frictional force between them. Note also that in a lot of Elite blasters the seal _doesn't_ actually need improving anyway. It's already very good as it is _but only for the final portion of the stroke_ because that's all the blaster needs (due to their tapered cylinders). In my EAT I lost around 10fps in muzzle velocity with just one layer of Teflon tape under the o-ring. If the seal is static during firing (like between the air cylinder and the back of the bolt in mag-fed blasters such as the EAT, Rampage or Retaliator) then improving a seal can help although replacing the o-ring is always the better option if possible as Teflon tape can move around or become dislodged.
anyone help me switch from elite to mega? great gramas like to shoot too. the switch wont move even after I unscrewed screw on switch. pushed really hard
+CrissWolfNerf Agreed in general, but I melt the etape after application, sortof like heatshrink. Its still not a perfect solution, but its fine for most applications.

(If you don't know what it looks like there is a wiki page and I'm sure someone took a picture and put it on google images).
Your darts are firing two at time because your elite darts aren't strong enough to take that much pressure. Your mega darts are a lot bigger and stronger so they can take it without firing two at a time.
Drac, I can't get over how gosh darn nice you are to your viewers. You're doing great, man! Keep it up!
+Treyton Nugent (HWP) I love you guys! Thanks for watching.
LordDraconical Any time man! :D
+LordDraconical you should totally make Rey's blaster from Star Wars with a double strike!!!
+LordDraconical what ever happened to your koosh firestorm that you were going to modify
+LordDraconical you hair is in the shot now we know
the exact same MOMENT he said "and there;s that train in the distance" the train that is down the street from me came by.

Hammershot with 7 round cylinder, 8kg orange modworks spring, steampunk paintjob
Start a petition! We must have it!
+Billy Dinsdale Better even. 2 hammershots molded together with an unified trigger. Both with 8kg orange modworks spring, a 7 round cylinder and a post apocalyptic/borderlands paintjob.
+JayJay Golden naw. u'd have to prime it twice
+Unknown629 Permand303 Connect the hammers?
Muzzle Flash That would be a heavy pull especially if omw springs were used
I'd like to see you modify the Boomco Crank Force. At least to see what the internals are like. I'm wondering what the gear mechanism is.
hey drac, you should do a mod guide on record. Mark 2, to try to get it to have better ranges, and try to make it fit straight mags
reacon
+Ivan Lulić Recon*
Hey Drac I think you should make a sister blaster along with the code breaker stryfe using the red battery door. Use a red cryptic film instead of green.
Hey Drac, what's up with that red battery door with your name on it? ;)
+HotGlueNinja I believe he made a video describing that about a month back
+Weridpan what vid
+HotGlueNinja probably a future project
what might be happening is there's so much air after the plunger mod that the second dart fires, a/r closes, and there's still enough air to push out the third.
+Bob O`Bob In other words...there might be an actual reason for the holes?
Hey Drac, I'm Aussie and in my local Kmart (Aussie I think?) and we have the nerf zombie strike cross cut! I don't know if it came out were I am first or its come out for you now and you haven't seen it?
i wonder if you could put that mega dart barrel setup into a rough cut? if so that would be an awesome master key
you could even user the mega barrels and ar from the blaster in this video. i might have to try this
love that intro has that 80's Vibe to it keep up the Awsome Content i don't even own a nerf gun but i enjoy watching you video's by far you are my Favorite Nerf youtuber and your way more Tacticool then Coop lol
i feel like this could be a good base for making a m4 or m16 style assault rifle working cosplay. you pretty much already have the upper and lower in a good place, with a working priming handle in pretty much the right spot

What about a Star Lord Quad Blaster modded to look like Splatoon's Dual Squelcher? You could also try an NES Zapper-themed Sharpfire.
I was just wondering if you were going to the next Blade show
I know I'm late to the party, but can you cover the smart AR part? I'm thinking of tearing it apart to use as a shotgun setting. It seems like it makes enough power to work.
Can you do a mod guide on the Vagabond? It's different from a Strongarm.
thanks this was my first mod i love your videos
Remove the air restrictors and make the super short range Elite Mega Shotgun.
Drac can you please do a guide on the Double Skrike from the zombie strike line
already did one i think
PLEASE HELP, I have this dual strike and the switch is not moving, fresh out of the box and the switch is just not moving can you please help me with this problem?
Can you help me, the switch is not working it's kind of stuck, I am not able to shoot the mega darts as , the switch is not coming done, what should I do?
Make a custom Rey's blaster with a double strike from Star Wars
+Cube King THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!
+Cube King I am a cuber.
+TrickShotGaming94 I know right it would look really cool!
Cube King yeah. the gun looked really cool in the movie and it seems like it would be a perfect doublestrike
+TrickShotGaming94 as soon as I saw it I knew it would be a perfect double strike and that drac can make it
With this mod would it be better than a stock Magnus?
Hey drac did you ever fix or figure out what happened to your ar for the elite
how do you add a spring to it. because I tried and I couldn't do it.
I need help my dual stroke blaster switch between mega and elite doesn’t work like it won’t switch any suggestions?
Maybe make a stampede with rapidstrike internals? Transplant style?
Drac, how does someone contact you regarding commissions?

can you do a review on nerf mega hex shot
Please modify the boomco crankforce!
+Almostbauws Ew, I hate that gun and I he only does nerf mods.
+Crkm09 yeah, but i would like to now how the gun works.
Almostbauws BoomCo is a copy of Nerf, just with clips and sticky darts. So if you see his new video about the ThunderCover, it even says 'A BoomCo Jolt?' in the title. So most BoomCo are copies of Nerf blasters.
not that one
that one is original
Almostbauws PFFFF Sure it is. As I said before BoomCo copies Nerf...
Drac, I was thinking of painting this gun and I wanted to paint the prime thing how would I do that
hey drac I keep trying to mod guns but they keep breaking, so can you do a step by step one for the mega Magnus please, thanks man
Do a mod guide for Crossbolt and Sharpstrike!
Personally, I think the black-on-orange and the black-on-red looks kinda nice.
I like the dual strike, it is like a triad with a mega triad
true

Recon MK II mod guide?
can you do a split strike mod im getting two soon
did you hear the whistle
I'm new to modding. How did he melt the tape?
Melt? He just put electrical tape over the holes
Nathan Beck Oh. It looked melted.
Oh sorry, he did but you don't necessarily need to do it, you can just use a lighter if you want
a small loan of a million mods
Could you use jb weld
It's 1.13 in the morning right now,at least in Singapore
In terms of a new release blaster for primary what would you consider with a 100 USD spending limit?
Definitely a stryfe or modulus
Grant Sprinkle So a stryfe in general, since Modulus is a reshell?
+Celtic spartan A longshot and OMW mod kits.
Rapidstrike, Stryfe if you want semi-auto
Im made tazer darts and there is not enough power to shoot them
You do know they make colored EC that is the same price and it comes in most colors.
Would a retaliator string work?
Yeah ik I'm a bit late, but the plunger is very similar to a Longshot plunger, so a Longshot spring might be more appropriate.
Now we have the tri-strike, which is basically just better.
Is there a screw in the plunger head???
No there isn't i checked
NOOOOO
I took out the smart ar for the mega barrels so I can shoot all at once
Drac please make a B3 Wingman from Titanfall with a hammershot
Why is the Ad on this video blurred on the girls chests?
How do I get a Commission by you if you can right back to me that be great
anyone help me switch from elite to mega? great gramas like to shoot too. the switch wont move even after I unscrewed screw on switch. pushed really hard
haha! I screwed it back in and it switches easily now! pew pew or ka-BOOM!
Review and mod the buzz bee snipe!
seriously. who added all the holes in the barrels and plunger toob.
I love your UA-cam channel and video 😎
make a mod guide on the recon mk 2
how come evreone got the recon mk2 but not the ionfire?
+Gabriel Brown Ion-fire= worst blaster... Recon mk 2= epic... simple
Because the ion fire sucks
Did he melt the tape
Yes
Recon mk ii mod guid plz
recon mk2 brass breech guide! please. and thanks in advance. even if you don't make it. your still awesome. ;)
that train will face the wearth of drac the nerf vampire
does anyone do comissions ???
This video was published on my birthday
drac has hair look on the top right 2:48
Do a mod for the recon mk 2 please I love ur vids.
two words... my GAWD
smelborp for president
Hello and welcome to Dracs mod guide. Today were going to be COVERING THE WHOLE BLASTER WITH TAPE and yea bye guys.
Electrical tape? Yeah, it's quick but it's not gonna hold up over time.
+CrissWolfNerf Agreed in general, but I melt the etape after application, sortof like heatshrink. Its still not a perfect solution, but its fine for most applications.
+LordDraconical You should say that in your mod guides when you use e-tape.
+LordDraconical Hey drac, I have a challenge for you, you see 5 years ago a game came out on the wii, N strike elite, in this game there was a gun called the stampede rev 12 do you think you could make it? (If you don't know what it looks like there is a wiki page and I'm sure someone took a picture and put it on google images).
+LegoPadawan Its the lawbringer just to let you know
um... no the law bringer has one revolver where as the specter rev 12 has two.
This was posted on my birthday :)
you should make your own gun from the ground up with super XD performance lol .
I say u should Recon Mark II
elite Stampede???
Rapidstrike!!!
That was the intention
+Dude How about a mega nite finder?
+th33ninja Oh god, the inline mega jolts.
that nerf is come out so good and strong 😀😎
I wanna buy this just to mod it
make a shotgun dual strike video
Don't worry about the train, can't even hear it on my garbage laptop speakers!
when I get a duelstrike im shoving my blazing bows spring into it
Your darts are firing two at time because your elite darts aren't strong enough to take that much pressure. Your mega darts are a lot bigger and stronger so they can take it without firing two at a time.
Incorrect
I find the dual strike kind of useless. I don't really find a purpose to shoot both of the darts. I would just stick with one.
Drac, can you make the Annihilator from Call of Duty Black ops 3? Would be awesome if u made it.
=D
Now paint half of it red and add brass to be epic mlg master race 369 quickscope pc blaster
Do a zombie strike doominator
By the way, don't know if its just me, but your intro video is just LOUD, compared to your normal volume. =/
