    • Closing thoughts:
o On wrist - Too tall and bulky on OEM strap but balances out nicely on Artem NATO, HydroFlex, or Sailcloth straps, also feels a lot more elevated
o Model variants - Also available in the original 5 variations, one to represent each Ocean on Earth
o Comparable models - This is really more of a piece of marketing memorabilia than a daily wearable wristwatch, so I’m not sure what you’d really cross-shop with against. Most any other Fifty Fathoms homage will offer better value
o Bottom-line - This release piqued my interest and the buying experience won me over, the energy in the line was great and the feeling of acquiring one was actually very satisfying, especially considering the price point
 The cost to smile ratio on the “Thrifty” Fathoms is downright miraculous, IF you purchase at retail and get to enjoy the full experience

I was waiting for a black Blancpain edition, this one makes justice to such an elegant watch. It is expensive for what in paper is ofering, the system 51 does not worth the price, but the design 100% make it a good choice if you are into diving style watches.

I think the people that throw shade on this watch secretly want one but just cant swing the disposable income. Therfore they resort to being passionately angry at it. Personally I love mine. I have this one and the antarctic and I wear them all the time. Coming from someone who wears watches everyday and has a fairly deep collection I can honestly say they play a huge part in my rotation.

Or it could be that we don’t want to spend $400 on a plastic gimmick watch from swatch that’s 14.4mm thick. I’ll spend my $400 disposable income on a better finished, thinner micro brand that’s not plastic.

It´s not disposable, you have to change the movement at Swatch, they can replace it.

@@N7Soundreally ? ? I was under the impression the watch is a throwaway should the movement fail. I have purchased this ocean of storms anyway as I love Blanchpain but did not low swatch could replace the movement
Prob still cheaper to buy a new one tho

@@leeryan5850 I guess, it was an official answer from Swatch in Instagram. They are not going to make you throw a 400 dollar watch, no matter if it´s plastic or not. :D

Will the swatch fifty fathoms logo buckle fit on a sailcloth 22mm Artem strap as the Artem metal clasp is not in keeping with the plastic, sorry 'Bioceramic' watch.

Do you need the Artem sailcloth straps ordered with « fat » spring bars for the holes to be big enough? Would those fat spring bars work directly?

    • @AverageBros
      @AverageBros  8 місяців тому +4

No, the OEM bars fit fine into the standard sized holes. The holes in the case will work best using the provided screw in bars.

Nice video man but your camera has some serious AutoFocus problems.

Great video I have just got this model from swatch and will be adding the sail cloth strap but artem says it’s a 21ml but your video says 22ml am hoping it’s 21 as otherwise on the 22 the clasp is much larger
Also fyi all through this video I thought both your watch & strap was navy blue. Your lighting shows it as blue not black only when outside showing the lume did it finally show black. Shame the navy looks cool lol😂

I used the 22mm, as I've seen those who've used the 21mm had gaps.

Hmn ok thanks good to know. Even artem told me the 21. Out of interest as you had the 22 I assume you had to go with the larger 20mm clasp. Did you not feel it was too large or thick/heavy etc
Il re watch your video and have another look thanks for doing this Video. It’s very detailed 👍

I'll wait until Pagani Design make a homage to it with the superior NH35 movement all for less than a hundred bucks!

Artem straps are comparable in quality to the original Blancpain sailcloth straps which are not sailcloth either as it is not a robust enough material to last very long as a watch strap material. Someone who can't spell sailcloth probably can't judge quality either.
