I have respect for people who are brave enough to point out mistakes. I didn’t notice this mistake because I don’t have the experience; but I cringe when I notice a mistake and that person acts like it was meant to be. But the most interesting things from history have been caused by mistakes. We have the pacemaker because a doctor was trying to make an EKG and put the wrong components together, which caused a pulse that matched a human heartbeat. Also some scientist was studying germs and went on vacation, forgetting to cover the germs. Mold got into one of the dishes that contained Staph and he noticed the staph wasn’t growing where the mold was. Hence: antibiotics! Some of us exist today because our ancestors were treated for pneumonia and didn’t die before having us or our parents! I’m anxious to see the outcome of that bowl. 🙂
Thank you very much. You are correct. Lol, I don't think that this will be the next great discover though. I also do not have the wood to waste because I can't leave the house to go get more with the Corvid-19. I looking for anything that I have to keep making projects.
You choose the best work around. Work with what you have. Curious about your glue press. I am not seeing how you fix the clamping bar in place when you adjust it. I have pins on mine but I just am not seeing what you have. Did you do a video on the build? Gary AKA ThePapa1947
Thank you very much. On my clamping fixture I just use a spring clamp. I have often considered putting holes in the bar to hold pins. I have not done a video on the build because I built this way before I was doing videos.

This was something that I have never done before. I almost did not do the video but I felt that it was something that others could learn from my mistake.
I generally turn every segment or 2. Then glue up more segs. It is much easier hollowing out the bowl this way.
