What is your main weapon and what matchup do you hate the most for it? Also I think the vid looks a bit ass, I recorded it wrong because my brain is smooth, apologies🙏❤️
The biggest piece of advice I give friends (or randoms) if they want to start playing brawlhalla (or any fighting game) is that they learn neutral game before combo game, as they say "the greatest offense is a good defense". you can't lose if you don't get hit. I see so many people lose because they over-aggress or over-extend. you have to always keep in mind that if it goes into overtime and you have the (stock) lead, you win.
That’s a good point about learning neutral game first. I think that would help a lot of people to know. However, I haven’t been put into overtime once in a 1v1 game.
You know what, i just realised. The whole taking advantage of the weapon matchups thing *was* really as simple as it seems and even if it was kinda obvious, i never realised that. Like for example, if you're close enough to punish someone on hammer, ideally (if theyre grounded) youd want to be above them. Because say they miss an nlight or grounded sair, you're easily able to punish from above because they dont have access to a move thats quick enough to get you from straight above, because if they tried with a sig, it wouldnt be fast enough, and they wouldnt have time for a jump sair/nair. Thanks, lahkan.
Interesting video. However,I have three points I'd like to critique about it: No 1 : I understand that weapon matchup is a very important thing to know/understand,but what happends when you try to apply that knowledge only to get shunted by it? (For exemple, cant tell you how many times I tried to approach a Blaster player from the air only to get nair'ed to oblivion or worse,anti-aired sigged) No 2 : Yes,neutral is important, but should we only factor that? I personally think that at least knowing some damage BnBs or small reads helps alot. Not to mention that; only pointing this out cause you migrated on PC, but sometimes, lag just fricks you up. Imagine being ready to punish the most OBVIOUS of Orion ssig on Lance, only to get TP'ed into it cause game said so. And finally no 3 : Getting to Diamond itself is a chore. I think I can speak for alot of players when I say that around Mid-Gold,you get some nasty, and I mean NASTY players/gatekeepers who just want you to have a bad time. Not really sig spammers or BMers, but I'm talking like straight up "This person shouldnt be Gold, but they are in Gold because they cant rank up like me" types. Doesnt help also that around those ranks, one win can net you 10-20 elo,but losing can take away 15-21 elo for some random reason. Great work as always tho Lahkan, hope you have a good day, friend.
Im not saying neutral is the only important thing, I’m just saying it’s a LOT harder to get good at neutral than it is to learn combos and reads in this game. But I see what you mean, I hope you have a good day too bro :))
I agree with your third point . I don't exactly get what you're trying to say in the 2nd point because everybody knows that reads = extra damage, but that's not the point here , the point is that too understand when to do it . And with your the 1st point i have a question for you. If you're getting naired every single time you approach from the air then why do you keep repeating it ? And please press the dodge button while you're getting naired into oblivion🤣🤣🤣. And try a different approach next time. Because you can never say "blasters is unapproachable" , of course it is difficult but we do what we have to do. Watch the recent steel series grand finals between boomie and stigray. Boomie played Reno and stingray's spacing against boomie's blasters was just impeccable. Please Watch it , you'll learn a thing or two.
@@reality8862 Do you think I just not do anything when I get hit? Or I do not dodge? You have to understand that on console, not only you have delay but also, sometimes, the game doesnt register your presses until a second or two. Specially on the switch. Also, concerning the 2nd point, the point of the statement was : If you get the opening in neutral, if you can do a 2-3 hits combo over a small punish, sooner or later, you are gonna get your enemy in KO range faster then just doing one-two stray punishes. Also,as I stated in the second point : "Sometimes lag just fricks you up". So even if I spaced perfectly, had the best punish ready;sometime games just tells you to frick off and you get hit anyway.
7:20 😂 but this video actually helped me improve some when I actually started thinking about my attacks and movements I went from being stuck and gate kept at 1800 every season to like high 1800 previously id just rely on muscle memory and throw attacks and criticize myself watching replay so thank you.
I've been playing Brawlhalla with a good friend for several years (ranked for about 2 years) Last spring we reached 1680 ELO. Since then we've been trying to get higher, but we're only making progress at very slower paces. Last season we hit 1800, yo, that was such a big struggle. We don't know how we can improve and why. There are 2 things in the game that are keeping us from progressing to the next league/rank: Around Elo 1700/1750 there are lots of Diamond-players who are almost unbeatable because they actually reached 2000 Elo in a previous season. We have to do our best in every match, sometimes it's so nerve wracking. In some matches dodge doesn't work and we feel like we never have spawn protection after revival, but the enemies have over 3 seconds. All these points are the reason why we are stuck and maybe stuck in Platinum 2 forever... Is it the same for other players or does it just seem so difficult to us?
1984 peak here, havent hit diamond still. basically yes, 1700-1899 is FULL of washed diamonds. U might think they are unbeatable, but they really are. Fact is, most of their skills are peaked at 1900 the highest and they got carried or are just good in 2s, which is where they got diamond from. Either that, or they are surfing. Learn when to use certain dodges if that's what u mean, like to not dodge in with scythe or when coming into stage because everyone reads it. If it simply dooesn't work, I suggest getting a new pc/ controller lol? and for the spawn thing, y'all are probably just tunnel visioning on getting a weapon or immediately attacking off of respawn. tunnel visioning makes u an easy target because the enemy knows your next move, and attacking immediately after respawn makes your invincibility wear off quicker than usual. I was in your shoes too, about to go back in because I got tilted and didn't reach diamond this season. Just keep grinding, watching guides, and remember to take breaks BTW: 1900 is arguably easier than 1800, but after 1950 u start to match with a lot of actual diamond players so it can get rough there. the real hill is 1800.
I got 2100 in 2s once last season, at that elo range it’s all about team combos and team chemistry. Where your partner goes you go, cover each other tracks and everything. Gotta be on the same page, but for me personally I prefer ranked 1s, got diamond twice now in 1s, 2017 peak
@@unfamousk4y i entirely agree with 1800 being the hill, it took me about 3 and a half months to progress from 1700 to 1800 but only 29 days to get to 1900
Short update: Due to new ranked system I currently fight on a higher elo than in the previous season. At least in 1s: 1850 Elo. But I'm afraid to keep playing in fear I'll suddenly meet more sweaty scythe players or diamonds around 1900 and 2000 Elo and drop back to platinum 1 therefore. I only have 12 wins so far but I don´t know if I should continue.
1) lets fucking gooo I've missed educational Lahkan and 2) It's tax season in the US and just found out I'll be getting a nice return soon enough.. what PC+peripherals would you recommend for brawl? I have a 170hz monitor, but I want to leave myself open to a 240hz down the line. Love the content bro, channel seems to be steadily growing!
For brawl it doesn’t need too much but imo if you’re getting a pc you should go big if you have the money so it’ll be able to run any game well for a long time
Imagine being the guy fighting someone casually making a UA-cam video hoping you punish him to show his viewers what not to do so you don’t get punished.
It’s easy to say but it’s hard to do😂 that’s all there is to it but seems on console it’s a very small frame to gravity cancel a light attack after a spot dodge, most of the time comes out as a muffed sair or something along those lines
I'm low-mid plat and i've been playing this game for years. I just can't get over the 1700 elo hump and i've pretty much given up at this point any pointers? i think i have pretty good movement but idk i just wanna hit diamond i've been playing for so long and it just seems like i'm not good enough to tbh i need help...
I'm in exactly the same boat. For me, I feel like my problem is my lack of off edge proficiency. I really don't know any strings or reads off edge. What weapons do you main?
if you hit 1903 last season keep playing and watch your replays from ab 5 games to 1903. and I mean REALLY try to analyze that and then try n replicate it every game. once you do that you'll get used to playing like that and then that'll become ur base skill nd diamond will be closer than ever
What is your main weapon and what matchup do you hate the most for it?
