Interpret the music as you will, but this is personally how I feel about this.

Smoking in the rain with Deftones is a vibe though. What I appreciate about Deftones is they've really successfully captured emotions that are hard to capture in songs. Not the pretty emotions, the ugly hard ones that for some reason people don't wanna hear or don't wanna feel. Which makes it harder to connect with people when some of us wanna talk it out, it's the perfect escape. I hope in my lifetime people will become people again and act human toward another.

Even their later albums still have songs that make you ascend, but I think this song is one that makes literally anyone fly and transcend beyond like anything
