There is also another mission in WC3 The Frozen throne that is similar to the Brood War mission "True Colors" where you have about 7 mins to destroy either Dethoroc's or Garithos's bases before they launch a counter attack.
Lol, kinda like the mission before this, I'm getting total dejavu. There was a Blood Elf mission in Frozen Throne that basically had the same map and gameplay layout where four outer base outposts get easily overrun at the start and you end up with with one base smack dab in the middle of all of it and you have to fight back against everything afterwards.
My favourite mission, and the first time the player got to use build a Devourer too. The Orange Zerg AI was exceptionally good at defending the north west bridge to its main base: it burrowed tons of Lurkers there. I always fly my units to take over the north base first so that Orange doesn't have time to build up its army, what I didn't expect was the Lurkers: they obliterated my Zerglings. Once Ive taken down the Orange Zerg, the game becomes easy. White Terran AI was pretty disappointing, the whole time it never sent an army at any of my bases, and was destroyed pretty quickly.
The whole point of this mission was to take out the renegade zerg, but yeah, the UED was supposed to be still formidable but quite disappointing, especially having to kill 30 measly unarmed scientists.
Okay, be a rebel and attack the zerg first and not the scientists as told... could be a chance, enough mins and what I love on starcraft that gas never really is empty, they should have kept that in starcraft 2 (I only know it from singleplayer, but it sux that gas stops completely), the 2 gas instead of 8 are important and if you have 3 or 4 of such gas wells, you still can create a few new units and enemy is almost beaten if you own most gas wells anway :D Thx for video, give it a try now.
true, "Hunter of Shadows" is pretty similar too. Map layout is kinda different though since your man base is in the bottom right corner of the map. The Blood Elf mission DOES exist though. It's the second Frozen Throne mission after fixing the Dalaran Observatories.
Duran's voice was changed since he allied with Kerrigan and also even the UED has their pet zerg why they didn't destroy Kerrigan while she was weak and lost her control of her broods man the UED are so stupid now they got destroyed on the last mission Omega
yep,1. time I looked for help in the net... 1999 I bought broodwar for (~10€ now) but didn't knew it doesn't work without the original, but I could install it and played broodwar, but it was too hard for a new player, i was soo frustrated, now I got both, and I got until here, I thought too, to attack the zerg bases even though Duran says not to, but if there are minerals and gas without a zerg base, this is good, my 1. attack from the island was strong but not strong enough and mins/gas out :>
This was the mission I couldn't do when I was a kid. Only years later, coming back was I able to do it.
