Been looking for a video like this to really understand value of scales and blending, can't not believe how easy this is for me to understand! thank you so much! :D just earned yourself a sub
thanks so much for the help. I'm in visual arts and I am a junior and this really helped me get a good A on the assignment. Keep up the good work my friend!!!
Hi Alphonso! I’m currently working on your books -they’re awesome!-, and I would like to make you a question if you don’t mind: on page 48 of the workbook, the capability to perceive differences in value is addressed as a crucial one; however, although this makes no problem for me in the value scales, when it comes to identify the middle tones in the drawings themselves things get trickier. Even in the drawings you provide on those pages I struggle to separate certain closer values. So, I was wondering if you could suggest any piece of advice to improve on this area or maybe you could tell me if you have already talked about this subject in any other video. Thank you so much for all your dedication and beautiful work
I just recently discovered your videos and I just read your book cover to cover last night. You do excellent work. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
I subscribed. Your video is very helpful and elaborate. Thanks. I've watched many ball point pen tutorials and drawings. I'm planning on starting many ballpoint projects.
+Alphonso Dunn Yes! It seems like the examples on p. 40 use different line sizes to achieve gradation, is that right? Related to "weight" on the bottom of p. 27; seems to me.
if either works for you, use it....There is no one way to draw...however, I would suggest you learn as many ways as possible, that way you dont limit yourself or your creativity and your style has more things to incorporate as it develops
Gonna work on this for a week. GREEAATTTTT BOOK!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for creating the book for your online students.

Alphonso what do you think of the halfway to black (HTB) and andrew loomis methods of determining a value?
