I AGREE with you 1,000% because this was when bowling was bowling. Like the NFL, NBA, MLB & MLS the bowling is now CRAP too & isn't worth watching anymore either. LOVE YOUR COMMENT.
Mr. Biondollilo didn't have it, but he bowled the first televised 300 on the tour not long after this TV show if I am correct. Wolf called Burton's future success.
+bowlingfanatic20 Thanks for that info. I saw it on TV that day but my brother was being punished by father and missed the game- I had thought it was earlier but I am sure you are right!
When bowling was enjoyable. No two handed crap. No 25 bowling balls per bowler. No 250+ league averages (you had to earn it). Crowds behaving and not screaming drunk. Good trophies not deodorant bar plastic junk. Good announcers not wrestling style as today.

Has there ever been a more perfect example of a smooth stroker? If you wanted to train someone this was the example. I never tire of watching these guys who learned to bowl on lacquer conditions. They were so accurate because they had to be! Polyurethane covers a lot of mistakes!
Was there ever a more technicaly sound bowler than nelson burton jr.? He was so smooth i could watch him all day!
Thank you, irishpogi. I greatly enjoy watching these old bowling videos. It was fun to see a very young Bo Burton.

Bo Burton one of the BEST, in every way possible!!!

You honestly can't throw it better than that. Had that happen to me the other week at league and could have spit fire afterward.
Before my time. I saw him in the 70s but not the 60s lol, it’s funny that his approach and release it was the same when he started on tour
Bo’s game hadn’t changed AT ALL over the years. Didn’t need to. His ball was hitting like a ton of bricks today.

+multicaruana it was 2 years later that he bowled the 300 in 1967

I may be wrong but check for me. Steve Nagy might have had the 1st 300 on TV. It might have been before the pba started up in 1959.
Claude Heffington there were back to back 300’s before that in a doubles format. The second player never got to throw a ball
@@douglasharris5216 it was ed lubanski who did that feat while bowling in Miami Florida

Real talk. Say that, sir!!
Two handed equals ugly.
Times change. Get over it.

Extreme Championship Bowling!
Burton Jr had the patience of a saint there with all the taps he got!
I think I see Billy Golembiewski and Carmen Salvino in the front row of the audience. (Verified by Fred Wolf at about 29:20.)
Sitting at Carmen's left is Bob Strampe

@minute 13, I think I'll go bowling and lose a ton of weight :)
Too bad for Bo this wasn’t a “no tap” tournament. He’d have been shooting for 900 in the 10th frame of the 3rd game. 😁
Funny to listen to the commentators. _It's almost like they're golf commentators trying their hand at bowling._
LOL at some of the things they say.
He was straight up living in the pocket
Had no idea Ted Cruz had PBA career back in the day.
bowling, quite possibly the most boring sport to watch....golf is a bit worse, but yeah this is a snoozer
