View & Retreat Home's Construction Update

Today we’re here in Mount Eliza at our View and Retreat custom home projects located a short walk from the main café strip and Canadian Bay Beach.
Construction on both luxury custom homes are at a similar stage, with lockup stage in sight having commenced construction in late Feb.
As you can see, View House represents living on a grand scale with over 90 squares of bespoke luxury accommodation whilst Retreat House which is over 80 squares offers the ultimate in privacy with an emphasis on understated luxury. Both homes were designed to integrate naturally into the hillside, given the slope of the site.
Combatting the slope of the block has been a great challenge and something the team have loved working with at both design and construction phases. Part of the way we’ve worked with the slope in construction has been through the use of a product called Dinsel, which in conjunction with sweltight gives us an incredible waterproof structural retaining wall that will stand the test of time for many years to come. This is the first time we’ve used Dinsel however we found it saved time in the build process and eliminates any concerns of water ingress down the track.
The current focus is around completing the cladding as well as getting the internal rough ins and windows completed. We’re essentially looking at making sure both luxury homes are watertight as we near the insulating and plastering stages.
Prior to commencing this next stage, we will undertake a quality assurance walk-through of both homes in conjunction with our independent building inspectors, BSS, and that’s to ensure we don’t have any wall straightening or plumbing issues prior to plastering the homes.
