She had a brief moment here in NY on the radio and in the clubs maybe, that was about it. I put it down to bad management or bad promotion, or inept of all of the above. I can't recall if 120 Minutes played her videos or not, maybe sometimes. She needed more push! Then again I met a few bands in the early 1990s who signed pretty fast to major labels and still struggled to get their stuff across on the radio and MTV, etc. Not all of those bands folded, some of them went on to long careers and some didn't. I wonder if Danielle is still doing music, does anybody know what she's up to these days? The other issue is how fast music changed from 1987-mid 1990s, I think a lot of this type of music went by the wayside to be eclipsed by other things. Certainly the club scenes changed and radio changed drastically.
120 minutes occasionally played her version of "Tomorrow Never Knows" when it came out. It's how I first heard of her. It wasn't until a couple of years after that came out that I realized she had an extensive back cataloge.
I heard this first on the Sire Records Various Artists promo series. There was "Just Say Yes", "Just Say Mao", and two more "Just Say..." ?, that I cannot recall. Bought them on cassette and almost wore them out.
I read one thing where the song was inspired by an old story where a man ends up being buried alive behind a wall.en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Whistling_Room?fbclid=IwAR0MhoWZdBD6qRpdfFgqVh9fh8QU-cmiD5mIDBSxRwlTOczMY9_0TzhIyPo

When artists had freedom to experiment. No one would record anything like this now.
You have great taste in music! Miss this era so badly.
