- Опубліковано 4 лип 2023
- Andrea Botez and Alexandra Botez, the Botez Sisters, are UA-cam and Twitch’s chess queens, and they’re also signed to OpTic Gaming, compete in poker tournaments, and even chessboxing. Chess used to be boring, but thanks to their hilarious content, sibling rivalry, and the Botez Gambit, the Botez Sisters have made this ancient game cool and compete against GM Hikaru and GothamChess at the top of the streaming rankings.

I think it was the queens gambit and Gotham chess that really got chess going, I love them but they didn't make chess popular.
It was, as painful as it is to say, XQC,Hikaru and Queens gambit that really got chess going. Levy benefited from the ball rolling rather than got it rolling.
@@thebiglebrowski3695 yes but levy followed the train and kinda got chess a bit more popular but not as good as xqc and others
@EXOTICNICK I can agree with that :) if I had to summarise it.
XQC got the ball rolling and got young people interested.
Hikaru helped him and helped get other streamers interested.
Naroditsky, Botez, Moistcritikal, chessbrah etc really started helping the ball roll
Queens gambit got non-gamers/slightly older people interested
Gotham educated those who stuck around and kept the ball rolling
@@thebiglebrowski3695 ye
Yeah it was Tate for me
Great title and thumbnail. I love the video!! it’s very entertaining and I always see this person so it’s good to know more. Good research and beautifully presented. Keep up the amazing work !
title and thumbnail arent great at all the title is a huge reach
Alex and young Andrea were hilarious and Alex was super patient
the thumbnail of this video litterally shows the image these people give you of them in your head.
the title is such a huge reach and they never broke any stereotype
*Levy joins the chat*
In india i guess sagar shah, samay raina who made chess famous(not talking about gm)
REALY? PAWN STARTS??? not respectful imo
Queen's gambit started the fad,botez sisters made it fun smart and interesting
no
I think tate was well, i not in favor or against him but a lot of young dudes just follow what he does ou say, the dude is very famous and influence
samay raina is legendary too
I became interested in chess mainly because of these sisters.:) Greetings Sisters Botez! :D
thats an L
Nice sharing
Who was that girl..can anyone tell the name
to everyone arguing about who actually made chess popular: it was covid sillies.
I was inspired by chess because of gothamchess
Pretty sure it was levi who did that but good video
no
Very far stretch.
Role of importance is probably
-> queens gambit
-> Gotham
-> Magnus
-> Hikaru
-> Botez sisters
i think tate was well i not n favor or against him but a lot of young dudes just follow what he does ou say
That's not true xqc hikaru and queens gambit made chess popular while levy came a bit late never saw botez sisters being a part of them
If your definition of cool is screaming, boxing and making funny faces, and boring is all of the thought, effort and sophistication required to play and understand the game of chess, then I think we're done here - it's childish bullshit.
lmao fr the title is such a huge reach and they never broke any stereotype
