if anything Charli (alongside AG Cook & SOPHIE) kickstarted / ~~invented hyperpop!! I dislike the term and its resultant progeny for the most part but XCX & company’s “future pop” trappings of the late 2010s really inspired a huge chunk of modern producers and artists, amateur & professional alike.
