I just finished listening to the CBC radio broadcast of this FANTASTIC event and I thought I might find the video of it on U-tube and here I am and so glad I can listen to it all again and also hear another half hour that didn't fit the CBC radio show. You who attended the event are so fortunate. Glad I got to see it here. Wow...!!!!!!!!!
I had the good fortune of tuning into CBC radio just when Allison started "Quasheba". I had never heard of it/or the artist before, but was absolutely struck.... it's why I went looking and found this page. What an honour to hear HER name and story--and the fantastic musicianship of her descendant really tugs at my heartstrings, both in joy and pain.
Was also there it was amazingg, loved hearing all of the stories behind the songs, really touching Lowkey also fell for this guy who was making iNSANE eye contact with me, sadly I looked away out of awkwardness and by the time I looked back he was lost within the crowd. Dear stranger, if you are out there, call me thx 🥲
