You guys are a breath of fresh air!!! I love SWATCH and I love the Grand Poobah, too. The first watch I owned that really drew me into this world was a Swatch. Keep up the good work!
I haven’t bought the system 51 but I had a swatch back in 1987 in different colours to the 86 you show, brings back memory’s!
My grandparents brought it back from Switzerland when they were on a European tour.
Enjoy your swatch Cam, I wore mine for many years and always enjoyed looking at the lumed hands then the strap finally broke and it got thrown out, wish I still had it!
I was one of the lucky few that got the watch directly from hodinkee and not at resale value, I love it so much.
I purchased one the day it became available. I'm probably older than most here but I have loved swatch since the 80's. I bought a jellyfish (clear model) and had a pink and blue swatch guards twisted over it (hey it was the '80's!!!) when my wife was pregnant with our first born, left the blue one on when my son arrived! :D
This is one that I just had to have as well, I was one of the lucky ones who happened to check my email at the perfect time. I absolutely love this watch! It’s a total throwback to my 80’s swatches as a kid. So cool!

Is it true the System 51 can’t be serviced?
according to Hodinkee "There is one very significant update though: Beginning with the Irony collection, Sistem51 watches will be able to be serviced at certain authorized Swatch watchmakers instead of being completely disposable. Previously you had to just toss the watch when it stopped keeping good time, but now you can keep a Sistem51 going much longer with some simple repairs and part swaps. Bravo to Swatch on this one."
