During the early part of the pre-spawn crappie are feeding heavily on bait fish. The lipless crankbait is a great lure to mimic bait fish as crappie are getting ready for the spawn. While fishing a river, crappie can be found on any current break such as a bridge in 15-30ft of water. As water temperature warm crappie will begin to migrate along the banks of creeks before moving into shallow areas to spawn.

Like your videos. Thanks for sharing them it’s helped taking the learning curve out for my kids
Glad to help
Nice to see a new vid from you. How was the ice out there.?? Sketch for driving?? River in winter freaks me out a bit nice catch and great lure for right now!!!
There were about 16-18 inches of ice out there. I think the ice will still be good for another couple of weeks at least
Thanks
Ever try further north. Super sketchy?? Think you know spot I'm talking about
@@christophewittman2501 ya, I don't drive much further upstream than the new stillwater bridge
Hey Davis. Just started crappie fishing a year and a half ago. I've watched almost every one of your videos i watched all your videos on side imaging then bought the 93sv uhd. Now I've gotten fairly good with it still have a ton to learn. My question to you is. I live in Arkansas. It's been in the 60's and 70's the past few weeks with some cool nights upper 40's and 50's. What depth will these fish primarily be in now that the water temps are rising? And how do you recommend fishing for them? What am i looking for? Structure? Shallow water? Deeper water?
Where you're located, I'm guessing most of the crappie will be migrating into the feeder creeks by now. Try to find any trees/brush along the creek channel bank (this will be submerged anywhere from 10-25 feet of water). As the water temps get into the 50s, crappie will push to the back of the creeks to start spawning.
@@FloppingCrappie I'm in north centeral. I was actuly thinking that. Man that makes me feel good knowing i was in the ballpark of where they are at. I am going sat morning. Can't wait thanks allot davis.
