Before Ed got big he used to attend battle rap and grime events in the UK - he was strongly influenced by the scene growing up.
His own audience is always suprised how is he in this or that song? Like when he came to LA he slept on Jamie Foxx'es house who is very much inside US rap culture and thru years he learned to know Charlamagne, Em and everybody. Made what, 3-4 songs with Em alone. It's crazy how his own fans doesn't understand how hip hop geek he is.
I didn't really care for his music but I watched interviews of him since he seems very interesting in british Graham Norton etc. type of shows and he would drop some rap geek stories here and there. Furthermore people from the cultures top echelon seems to always have some Ed Sheeran story to tell themselves.

Ed simply does not miss. He is just one of the best song writers in the game and can perform any of the song he writes for other artists as good if not better than they can. Diverse and incredibly talented. I put him in a similar lane to Yela where he is not defined by a single Genre or two.
Ed is one of the biggest Pop stars of all times who is clearly a fan of Hip Hop.

Ed definitely has some songs that I imagine would be welcome on the channel that are more hip hop and rap rather than just singing and pop. ''You don't Know (For Fuck's Sake)'' with Yelawolf. Ed & Yelawolf made a short mixtape together a few years back that not many people know about but on this song Ed mostly raps, and another one would be ''You need me, I don't need you'' I'd say these two songs are where he's in his rapping/hip hop bag more than pop. A third suggestion would be ''Don't'' which isn't as much hip hop but some cool story telling combined with rap and singing
I’ll add “Take it back” and then in terms of rapping and storytelling “U.N.I” is a great example!

it was for less than a week, Jamie Foxx embellished his story during storytelling lol Ed was only stayed in US for a month to do some open mic nights before going back to UK

Check out the Slumdonbridge EP Yela and ED did together way back before ed sheeran became a big star .Ed reached out to yelawolfs manager when he was in LA .and yela was in the studio when he got a call from his manger saying that ed sheeran wants to get in touch with him to make music.yela was like i have nothing else to do i dont know that dude but fuck it bring him to de studio.so they met each other and did 5 songs in one session and realesed it as a EP.
