From what I heard, between Guild league or AoS, you cannot pick one, you play what PA picked for you.
I legit just quit the game. The whole reason I geared up was to do node wars, and when I finally hit the point I can do node wars and start to RLY enjoy the game, 6 months later they kill it for me. Fastest uninstall of my life, fk this game, and fk the dev team for these DOG$H!T changes.
Yeah, wanted to get back into the game and start to engage with guild pvp and now I am just quitting again until I have time to play again and PvP changes are fixed.
But honestly if another good GvG mmo releases in the meantime, I will simply play that.

This isn't a good sign of the devs getting feedback and wanting to fix things for the health of the game/community. They already did that with a lot of the rebalance for karma and open world hostilities. This is stupid.
As someone who quit BDO because it was hard PvP focused and I didn't enjoy it... and returned to do PvE/Lifeskill content.... I have no interest in the PvP portions of the game.
I think this is stupid.
It isn't about one-up-manship "hue hue hue, this'll show those pvpers!". It is about the devs ruining a portion of the game for the people that enjoy it with no appreciable net gain for the community.
@@Mrkitsith666unfortunately that is not, and cannot be, a thing. There is no such thing as "perfection for all" because even within each demographic there will be different wants and needs.
What PA should be trying to do is to maximize the fun for the maximum amount of players.
I think that is what they're trying to do... but this is not the way to go about it.

Bad system with good reward, and the dev is like oh we get more people doing it, it must be good.
The devs would probably go and reinforce the wings on WW2 planes, because no plane that returned had engine issues.
Then wonder why no planes return anymore and simply say, planes are not it, we do not need air force.
Okay, so im going to put my 2 cents in here, sorry about it been long but I've had time to think about this (I am coming from one of those 'New' guild that the change is intended for)
First point: I returned to the game from quitting 5 years ago, and at that time our guild WAS a siege/nw guild, but stopped because players burnt out and recently returned to the scene.
1) The changes although catered towards bringing new guilds into PvP actively does nothing to help those guilds, so for example, as a new guild, how do you ever win a fort? The answer is, you don't, whether it be Capped 550, Capped 685 or uncapped, it does not matter, all that happens is you just get farmed by the actual pvp guilds.
2) Okay your getting shit on by pvp'ers but at least you get some rewards right? Well not necessarily, if you do not cap a fort in the NW, you get absolutely nothing and most newer guilds are going to struggle to push and destroy a fort held by a guild who has experience in pvp, so what ends up happening? The pve/new guilds participating just stop going to NW's because it's pointless?
3) This change was intended to make alliances obsolete, but all that happens is you have lets say a 3 guild alliance and choose mediah/valencia regions. well one of you is guarenteed to have an ally. So how the hell does this change alliances? It simply doesn't
4) The last guild to own the fort wins the node, which actively means you don't want to hold the fort until the last minute of the timer, which is actively meaning your not doing pvp?
I have loads more to add but don't want this to be too long, but there are a million changes they could do to improve the system.
As a league of legends player @BlueSquadron I think you will understand this reference.
What as a gamer is more enjoyable in league, a game in which you win in 15 minutes where the kills are like 30-0, a game which you lose in 15 minutes where you are 0-30 OR a 50 minute back and forth fight that has kills like 60-58 where you don't know who is going to win until the very end.
Now if you ask anyone that enjoys playing games, the 3rd option would be the choice that they choose almost EVERY single time.
That's the issue with NW, there is minimal fighting, and 95% of the time, your either getting completely smashed in 5 seconds, or you are trashing an entire guild in 5 seconds then go to paint like bob ross for 55 minutes.
TLDR: Even as a new guild/PvE 90% majority, the new system is complete ass
When Jae first announced the changes to Node war, my initial impression that it would be the same amount of time as the old system, and as soon as a guild took a Stick, they would be removed from the War completely. I also thought it was designed around more sticks so more guilds could have a node. I didn't realize there would be timers or the change of stealing a node once that stick was taken or losing is completely if not taken in a set amount of time. Does anyone see where my thought process is?

As a returning player, after about 4 years.. i LOVEE the direction the game is going and have spent significant money. The reason i want to progress is to take part in the competitive uncaped scene.. well ops, looks like its dying. now my spending looks like support for all these changes.
I Joined in 2022 as a first MMO experience specially after watching pvp gameplay and combat review, then realized it take quite the time run to get in the pvp scene, now i'm 745 GS barely touching the game because the pvp experience is inexistant(EU) compared to all the hype that was gradually disapearing as i progressed throught the game, had barely enought time to have fun to compensate all the time to grind up/understanding PVP. And overtime i was baffled people would stick to the game in the HOPE of a company making good pvp content and waste all this time waiting, i will not waste any, time is precious. They'll regret anyway with how much of the true core players of this game are dessatisfied up to the point of resent and are seriously leaving. Good Luck with your mess PA
I don't have any interest in large-scale PVP, and even I think the changes are insane. Blue's analysis is spot on. Open world changes are helping ease new players into the game (which is great for everyone who wants to play this 5 years from now), but NW changes are nuts.

Add a trophy system to open world pvp, have someones named skull as an item that drops, just for fun, maybe make them tradable or sellable, seeing as how there were name auctions, i don't think it's the most stupid idea.

Looks like the not much has changed since I quit playing. I played for 4 years (from day 1 in NA), 20k hours on my account, was in ManUp, back then we owned Valencia the entire time I was in guild. Literally anything I could do in game for 3 hours was worth more than the benefits we got from NWs. Got boring and tedious, ended up just leaving guilds all together and went solo (which is when I started to have fun again and it quit feeling like a job). I went out with a bang doing Pen roulette right before the PA shift happened and quit. Found your videos, might pickup playing again fresh as a solo just for fun. Thanks for the vids, catching up on what I missed over the years.

At least Siege still looks similar to old times... node wars are like a 2v1 forever, untill it suddenly one team gets to win, the start is also very boring until you can get a flag.
If the Nodes and Sieges were FAIR, and there were no PROGRAMMED FIGHTS TO WIN WHO INTERESTS, perhaps the nodes would be more interesting. So they only serve those who really care about the fights, those who cry are those who are used to serving as a CROWD OR WINNING BY DEMAND.

The thing that made node wars fun was the stategy and selective fort placements and fortifed bases its not like pve is so great in this game anyway they doing all this and barely improving the pve side of the game so whats the identity of black desert now

The final stick has fallen.. PvP is now a forgotten wasteland of the past.. i will prolly just quit the game at this point cus there is no reason to gear up anymore, PvE? Was only fun when you knew you could use your own progression in nodewars and actually enjoy the game, we've ran enough circles... RBF? Nah fam, layer of layer stacked on top of each other to "balance"..
PA have managed to fuck over almost all pvp in the game, Nodewars.. open world.. GvG...RBF... They will not stop befor they have destroyed us all

With everything going on with BDO these days I finally decided to cheat on BDO for the first time in 7 years and play some other games. (More just solo player stuff at the moment).
.....Man, I've been missing out on some fun games. I will state, I'm still logged in to fish for seals currently... but that is the extent of my motivation with the current state of the game. I guess we will see what Heidel Ball brings to the table, but what I have finally come to realize is.....even if Jae destroys BDO even further than he already has and I finally lose the motivation to even login for rewards...... I won't really feel like I'm missing out on much.
I've had some wonderful BDO memories over the years, the game still holds a huge place in my heart.... but it's not the same game anymore.
I just want the dec system back.....
t1 pretty fun on NA.. Def requires a lot more individual player skill vs 70+ nw's/siege.

GW2 has fun pvp. It's not on BDOs level but it makes fun. I love BDO but they are killing it..
Some laughed about OW pvp, and I was okay with just some form of pvp elsewhere but if pvp just dies and PvE takes completely over I quit.

saying 10% of players is pvp and 90% pve is just silly if aos or redbattlefield gave the same amount of silver/loot per hour as grinding I dont think that many would grind anymore and people do life skills when they are done with pve. Lets be honest they dont make any money from pve players they are the ones buying all the outfits (trading in game time to real life time) people with money dont spend their time on grinding circles when they can just put credit card information

completely new nodewar system where its basicly become a 5min RBF fight. there aint no tactics no strategy. you sign up look at the timer (sometimes u get a rarndom timer thats hidden) but mostly u et timers like 30mins or 40mins sometimes only 15mins. and you just wait fo rthat timer to hit around 2mins and u completely zerg the stick in that zone and you win. there is no defending it against big geared guilds. and it doesnt matter if you held the fort for 40 mins out of a 42min timer. the last guild to have it wins. the idea was to have less snipe guilds and to stop the op guilds like NA chonation EU conquer and the 3 guild circle jerk in korea to not be able to hold nodes indefinitly. and now its just full on snipes everywhere. and the big guilds are just sitting afk at the most profitable stick of the day and afk for the timer and get all the loot

The problem was that while the pvp players may be smaller in number than the pve players, the face and fame of black desert has always been the pvp. Every other mmo does pve content and lifeskill content better than bdo. and money wise the pvper has always spent more money than any pve player. hence why PA is always losing money and why they are now putting crons for life skill gear. hoping to get them to spend cash on the costumes and bring back up their sales. their is a reason why they made a pvp trailer trying to advertise the pvp and not the pve or life skills. Its because they know it sucks. they should have left the pvp scene alone if all they could conceive was punish people for engaging in there most popular content.
BDO is a single player pve game with some social interactions. Also I just wanna add why couldn't PA just have made it to were you could mark your guild as a PvE/PvX/PvP guild and only PvP/PvX guilds could send and receive decs.... huh
FUCK. been farming to get good GS for node wars... I get to 703 for this ? I left other MMO'S for 2 fucking reasons. Good combat, and PVP... PVE it's NOT, i repeat, NOT GOOD in BDO, the combat is (that's why the PVE feels good). No pvp ? No objective on this game. In other games you can focus on PVE on diferent ways, raids(dont even try to call atoraxxion raid), dungeons, try to clear it faster/efficient, play it with diferent roles (dps,tank,healer), diferent builds. Diferent builds? nahhh on BDO is BS's Fallen god and debos thats it ?! If you dont cant see the good and the bad points on your game, you already done. My bad for wasting my time, should have seen it coming. The red flags were all over the place already. Have fun everyone.

Blue, I know you are going to heidal ball in france. If you are truly that passionate about this game mode and want changes (or better still, have a list of changes in mind), the best time to give feedback is to do it in person at heidal ball, preferably directly to J if possible (bring someone who can translate....or I guess translation software on your phone might do a passable job). People on the internet like to think yelling into the void that is the internet will affect changes, but nothing has a greater impact that talking to the guy FACE TO FACE about it. This applies to any of the EU node war people who might be going there. I mean, I know you have gamers nexus on your youtube feed (you've shown that in past videos) and you definitely know how steve is handling asus (and newegg beforehand) by talking in person.
Personally I couldn't care less since I don't do node war, but since you do care, get ready to air your grievances in person at the ball.
Even when PvP is interesting and fun, it's horrible to spectate/watch. PA need to stop fixing pixels on shai bikini outfits and start fixing the game. 10 years of open beta without one single piece of content that feels polished, or even finished.
Their plan is to drive pvpers away and most players become pvers/lifeskillers so then they will be the loudest community and PA will actually hear them 😂😂😂😂😂
I was a PVE player 2015-2020, took a break for intense work schedule for 4 years. Came back with an interest in trying PVP this time around.. 2 months later they pull this crap. SMH..
Where Blue is not really understanding anything is when it comes to more complicated things like Dec changes and so on. The Dec changes are negative for both PvE and PvP player because both sides need this and it’s pa fault that open world did become bad. Before all this we did have a lot of open world and it was not “toxic” because the progression system was good. Nowadays you have 720 GS player chilling at Zentaurus obviously this will make new players who this spot is meant for feehl farmed. Open world is bad because of the PvE system that PA put in place and the constant witch hunt against PvP. This game SOLELY THRIVES on open world PvP. Without open world PvP you literally do not need more than season gear
Also blue dose not understand that the “PvP” players make up a large portion of BDO because everyone who dose some sort of PvP even if it’s sometimes casual is a PvP player and all this people are affected by the issues. Dec changes was the final nail in the coffin for this game. It’s currently in the dying stages. That’s why the release gunner. In every MMO gunner is the last cash grab when the game is dying

This system makes me doubt the intelligence of the developers, do they really have gray matter in their heads? it's obvious that the forts can be stolen in the last 2 minutes xD
In my experience at a corporation, most big decisions as a whole are not made by the developers. In fact, it's not normal for developers to just change or make something that would largely affect users without some sort of input. The developers just have the ability to program/develop it and explain how long/difficult it will be to do. They are largely told what to do by higher ups. In my experience, everything I've created was largely decided by someone higher up and then I was tasked to do it. I've had to create things that I disagreed with, but at the end of the day I've had to listen to my superiors and implement it. The UI/UX is really the only thing I feel I can put my own creative spin on and ensure at least that is decent. I'm sure in more micro-managed companies even that aspect could be decided by others. I think it's possible that your blaming the wrong people, though. I could be wrong, but if you have more info regarding how the decisions are made at PA then I'd be interested in hearing it.
They're killing the last bit of PvP in the game and the worst part is BDO can't even be a good PvE game. Why? Because Lost Ark (as a fellow Korean competitor) has it beat in that department. Every PvE player from other games wants epic raids, and PA's shit coders can't make it happen. As much as BDO players like to shit on Lost Ark for being slightly more p2w and a top down camera, their player base is still about the same size as BDO's, and even after last summer's fiasco, Lost Ark still brought its players back. BDO? We've only lost players and content creators. Jae's star streamer Jinga (the enhancement clips girl) left to Lost Ark because of how PA handled their KR partner program and PA haven't done shit to bring back its creators. Even the big streamer NoDolly hasn't returned to BDO, in fact he's also back on Lost Ark. All those pve streamers that tried the game last summer never came back. Why? BECAUSE THE COMBAT ALONE CANNOT CARRY THE LACK OF GOOD PVE. 😭
PvP carried the shit PvE, and they've been fucking with PvP since last summer. Truly a case of PA not knowing what their strong/weak points are.
PA should've kept open-world PVP as it was in my opinion i know the majority who are PVE players disliked it but it was the ultimate PVP experience
(atleast in my opinion) mostly because of its randomness and the scale of which the gvg could start & end also ever since that change it feels like pvp is being fought against by PA lol
stuff like nodewars should be fun, that should be the reason for people to play. every time a developer puts insane rewards into a system that should be fun, its because they wanna force you to do it, because they know it's not so much fun... but people will do it for the rewards. and then they can say "see people like it". its a bad loop. a good example is that m+ stuff in wow as well, remove rewards = no one does it because ain't no fun anyways.
Node wars are some of the worst pvp I have experienced. I don't understand how anyone enjoys it. While the combat is good. The lag, desync, awful engine. You aren't killing anyone with skill. ESO, GW2 and even WoW battlegrounds are infinitely better in every way.
You know I remember first playing this game beta and then a year into this they told us pvp/pve would get different servers (lies) and then pvp'ers would camp low gear players and dec guilds just to bully the fuck out of them. At the time bdo made it extremely pvp friendly and treated the pve'ers like dogshit. Now pvp'ers are getting this treatment and I can honestly say in loki's voice "YES! That's how it feels!". but in all seriousness, bye felicia.
I think if you dont enjoy it you shouldnt participate. Absolutely a good move. PA has little choice but to use metrics as feedback. 99% of the playerbase likely isnt giving written feedback on the forums.
Its similar to the open world changes youll see people screeching about it but honestly most people i know are happy to not deal with it outside Arsha/GvGs. My guild has 4 decs going right now with other guilds. I suspect the people complaining are the ones that liked unfair fights ganking life skillers because they are too soft to fight pvpers. People that dont give a crap or like the change don't as frequently write angry rants..they play. So if you are playing in the system you dont like you are effectively being a false positive.
I dont mind the system we have had some duds but also some real bangers. "No strategy" is total cap. There is certainly issues but you can be pretty creative with annexes. There is definitely issues but its been like a month 🤷 I expect changes to be coming. Its not a good idea to rapidly change it every patch itll have to improve over several iterations. Definitely keep complaining feedback is good imo.
I think it's a giant move to cater to Pve and lifeskillerd that spend more money on the game rather than more time. Im not saying it's right morally but what I am saying they are looking to cash in on people that play swipe leave and repeat rather than people who live on the game using resources and not spending any money.

The new system is really bad for t4 and uncapped NW, but honestly on EU at least t1 is really popping off. There is usually 15-20 guilds dropping and there is non-stop fights. If they tune it a bit better and fix the last hit fort RNG the system would work well for t1. I agree for more hardcore guilds guilds and uncapped tho it really sucks.
the EU t1 scene was the one that had the protest. There are always a lot of guilds on t1 nodes. Don’t be tricked into believing it’s working because t1 has a lot of forts
T1 has always been full of guilds, it was extremely common for t1 nodes to have 10-15 guilds fighting, so no all the new system has done is wash out some pvp t1 guilds in favour of pve guilds
so if the one sided dec changes were to stop pvp people from decing pve people and were the minority of 10% there shouldnt have been that many decs to begin with in the grand scale of things from what i remember it was pve people decing pve people an getting upset cause most top end dont care about fighting scrubs but thats just how i see it

There's not really a game for pvpers anymore. That was like the main draw to the game over other mmos.

The T1 node war scene is up huge, a lot more participants than before, we're having a lot of fun. And no they aren't just all pve snipe guilds, we truly do have a lot of fun Balenos/Serendia node wars. The lack of politics is a huge plus. I don't know what to do about the higher tiers, but then you've got guilds dodging uncapped when they should be playing uncapped.
It's crazy to me that GW2 has better large scale pvp and it's so old it's basically an antique at this point. Plus the shot callers in GW2 are so much better

They don't even look at the constructive feedback it's proven multiple times from various creative sources even former cm's we are ignored the only feedback they care about is Korea and thankfully the UN podcast that's it they only way to get them to look at feedback from us is to exploit a bug and make a video and showcase it risk getting banned just for them to look out way there's no other option but to be toxic when your constantly ignored

I don`t get why you guys hate NW soo much before when we did NW btw in few guilds and alliances we were basically wiped all the time no matter what or how much we defended or attacked another guilds or even we kill a guild other 2 or 3 guilds just pop up and wipe us for 5/10 min and we can`t do anything about it, we do NW every other day like 3 days a week and its always fun we also do strategy we fight most of the time the only thing that I heard from most players its that rng node last hit sh it other than that its fun.
Ok that's your guild bruh other guilds and other players are able to turn the tables in situations like that there was more thought process more strategy more depth to the old system compared to this new system running around attacking a stick with a swarm of players surrounding it just straight headbutting each other might sound fun to you but the rest of us no it's not don't forget the guilds who's sitting on a stick thats not even being attacked few minutes pass by node war is done
@terencebrock5206 I don't think so what was the planing then was who can get stronger alliance and that it. Now forts are rng which is great you need to place hwacha and flame as fast as u can or if you cant u can place a base near by and use cannons to get a fort its way easier of everyone to get into a fight that way you can actually win not a fight that you can`t do anything unless do a politics so there can be at least a small chance for winning. Even the last hit has a meaning although I don`t like it but it gives a chance to a guild to actually get a fort last min by last hiting it and have a win it`s a small chance but its still something better than can`t even get to their base for example....
