- Hey guys here is the best way that I've found to relieve the latest headaches from Elementor when working with category pages. Working with category pages can be hellish if you don't get the conditions correct and the elements right. Check my video to go through the steps.

YES!!! I finally got it! I had even tapped into Elementor Support. They even sent me a custom video but it was missing the "term" piece. I couldn't figure out why their instructions weren't working fo r me until watching this! Thanks so much. Truly appreciated.

Quick Q: Do you have to create a different Archive page for every category? Or theres a way to query it so the same template/page/archive works with every category?
yes, you can. Good question.
Create an archives page via the theme builder and in the template add a an archive posts (or products) widget. This widget has not many styling options though. This widget is only usefull when have a theme running that supports this widget and that gives you all styling options in the customizer.
When you create a menu that includes all categories (the functions as a filter) the archive page of current category will be shown automatically.
You can find a tutorial here, with products but the method is the same.

You can also use posts widget when you set query source to 'current query' and display conditions to "all archives".
The posts widget also has way more styling options then the posts archive widget does.
I even think you can use the new loop grid / loop carousel widget now since this widget also has the "current query" option.
In your loop item template you can add a post info widget and choose terms > categories as meta data. This will show the name of the category of that specific post and when you set it linkable, it will bring you to correct archive page as well.

i'm trying to find how to make a single page for blogs that only lists categories, and when you click it, it goes to the category like "exercise" or "stretches" or "meals" which has the relevant blog posts. How do you do that?

This single archive page works for all categories for blog or and other post.

How can i use the exact steps to create a "trending" post page
just came across this video - im trying to learn elementor and there dont seem to be much tutorials that actually convey setting up a workflow to work with the theme builder as a foundation - i thought I found something that this video could have been a part of... but sadly not when i checked your channel.
I am working on a series that works with the Hello Theme that is a core part of the theme building process from a web design/development point of view. What are you asking for? Basically an Elementor fundamentals class. Is that what you're referring to?
@@louis-borrego hi, appreciate your time in responding, I guess yeah maybe something like when and why to use theme builder section of Elementor, benefits of using it, does one just build page by page as one goes along? That's what I seem to be doing, other than a header and footer saved. But this means I may not be using it to it's full capacity for blog archive pages and blog posts, WooCommerce maybe, home and about pages etc etc

the "display condition" option does not appear anymore
But can you create a template that is going to be used for all Categories? So lets say we have 1 template for /blog displaying all posts with different categories, and then I want go to any post category like /category/funding or /category/investing and that One Template will be used for these pages and display posts with given category?

Hi Louis, I thought I had found my fix but I am using categories from WP Download Manager and they are not available when I go to the display conditions at the end of your tutorial, I can pick them in the query OK. Is there anything I can do?

So you have to create a new archive for each category selection? You can't just create one template that will filter for whatever category the user selected on its own?
You can you just need to know PHP and javascript to override and add to Elementor's current functionality or add a plugin that will do that.

If that's the case then I don't get why so many people are using Elementor. That's the dumbest functionality I've heard in the past few years.

The posts widget has a "badge" option that shows the categories / tags as well, but it's not linkable.

oh, i got it! and i'll answer myself in case anybody else need it... at the dropdown "query" don't select "post"as it is by default, but "consulta actual" (sorry, mine is in spanish and idk how it is in EN) this way it will filter and show only the selected category!

I have no TERM option, first time I use Elementor and I hate it hahaha, it've been looking for this for 3 days, and apparently it's impossible to show post by category on Elementor, sh*t, I think it's time to put my site in Themify again
