Apparently there was for some, a benefit from escalating tensions between countries and even a decades-long cold war. There was a time when the Russian political system required journalists to convince people that there were “wrong” people living across the ocean and that they could not be contacted.
Well, maybe we sometimes thought that “those Russians” or "those Americans" were not easily understandable. But there is something that destroys such a lack of understanding in minutes. There is a thing that allows people to communicate without words. This thing is able to convey emotions and create genuine feelings. This thing can bring the distant closer together. This thing is music.
