Bobby garland "blue ice" is a crusher, it is an absolute must have in your arsenal. That color catches me more crappie than any other color, black and chartreuse is a very close second in my opinion.
I was using the blue grass color the other day, catching crappie and bass in brush piles near docks.

You sure are a amazing fishing machine. When I watch you I get a fishing fever, but can't catch those critters like you do. You are blessed for sure!!
I remember as a kid the Old fisherman's rule never let the first fish go. That was back in the day when people kept everything. But I do understand fish release hormones into the water after you catch them that can spook other fish this is the first time I've heard someone on UA-cam share that.

Thars exactly how i used to get em as a kid. That and walking on the log rafts that came down the Columbia river. Dad would paddle us out and wed walk them. Almost any small crack between logs wed rip slabs out of. Those were the days. No more log rafts though.

Wow those are some nice big crappie nice work!
Those weedless crappie jigs are a game changer, as soon as I started using them my success rate went way up, nothing better than being able to pull your bait through limbs and brush with confidence. Another favorite presentation is with a 1/16 ounce chatterbait, it goes through brush just about as good but it has that blade thumping and getting their attention. The 1/16 ounce chatterbaits are kinda hard to find tho. The one I like is called the "flashback mini chatterbait". Try them and I guarantee you will fall in love with them.
That crappie's eyes were a long ways from his tail!!!!

Absolutely correct Richard , a released fish gives off a chemical signal that is related to stress. Other fish in the school pick up on this and the bite shuts down , or the school might even move off. Natures way of self preservation. Great tip.
