I am the SAME way. I've tried bible journaling and it's just not for me it hinders me from wanting to read. I see other people journaling and I love how fun it looks but when I do it it's not actually fun. But I love just reading notes that's what's fun to me.
It is OVERWHELMING all the different study methods and all the notes! 😮 Like you, I like to write in my Bible however you are exactly right about “do they go back and look at those notes?” I think my next Bible will be an interleaved or journaling Bible where there are actually extra pages or places for note taking. Thank you once again for your common sense about basic study of the Bible. I love your channel!
I appreciate this video ao much. I felt discouraged from studying the bible because the time it takes to re-write the prompts every day. It felt redundant and unnecessary so I quit trying every time. I’m doing it your way. I love this video.
I can't do those fancy study methods. I just do exactly what you do read and mediate on the word while letting the holy Spirit guide me in the word of God.
Thank you Jessica for sharing your study method. I do something very similar to your method. My NASB study Bible is my base resource. I also have other Bible translations, books, and documents that contain maps, photos and drawings that are used to clarify or support what is contained in my study Bible. If I reference any text, maps, photos, or drawings in my study Bible nots, I will note the resource. I had thought about adding Everything to my study Bible, but since it’s hardback book I didn’t want to increase the thickness of it which could break the binding. For me right now, using one study Bible as my main Bible certainly helps my to simplify reading and studying the Bible.
Thank you for sharing your method, I'm new to the faith and was getting overwhelmed by all the "bible studies" videos and thought I'd be needing a lot of references to study. Have a Blessed day! 🙏❤
This is exactly what i started doing this year. I was always so overwhelmed with studying my bible everyone elses way. Like seriously it made me not want to go to the Word. Finally i started buying study bibles. I fell in love so now i collect them. And gain SO much. I will be surrounded by 4-5 study bibles and learn so much.
@@itssammierose oh I just LOVE your comment! See!! and I feel others need to know that! It’s okay to just use your study bible! That is the point of a study bible! lol thank you Sisterita!
Thank you for this video! I’ve seen so many videos on different bible studying and some of it is so chaotic looking for me, with sticky notes everywhere. It’s just not calming for me at all :)
It was so delightful hearing your dog bark. I have never heard my girl bark and when I heard yours, I have on ear buds, I looked over and she is still sleeping and not disturbed at all so I back up your video and heard your dog bark again. Not everyone hates to hear dogs bark. Thank you. Love your suggestions on how to study the Bible. I just started scripture writing on August 1st this year and am enjoying it very much but it doesn’t seem quite enough. I’m going to enjoy your suggestions. Thank you.
Everyone learns differently and has different learning/memory retention methods, some people are highly visual and require visual aids to retain, others are not and that can feel overwhelming if you ar enot. I personally have to write and take notes or i won't remember. It leaves my brain - at work i am never without a notebook in front of me. I take notes directly in my bible and i do refer to them often. This also helps my brain remember where i saw or read something that I need to refer back to. Other great tools to incorporate beyond additional study bibles, is a bible dictionary. I have an illustrated version it is AWESOME you would be surprised the definions it has in there (names, places, words, etc.). I also leverage the blueletterbible online that is really helpful for finding original wording in hebrew/greek particularly when there is a conflict in translations. I have the CJB, ESV, NIV and then also use the blueletter bible to cross reference. Sometimes there is a difference in word choice between the two and the blueletter helps me understand a lot better.
Oh Jessica, this is what I needed to hear! I was so overwelmed by all this wonderful decorated bibles with this awsome notes in it and I bought so much stuff for it (stickers, pens...) that I was so busy so I finally didn't READ the bible. That is what satan likes, he want to distract us from what is really important. Thank you so much- simple is sometimes the best. Hope, you will show us a little about your routine in your day. You have now 5 kids and I only 2- there must be a way to pray and read and study, please show us how 😊! God bless you and your family❤
Thank you for your honesty. I read Gods word and notes rather than play with foo foo decorations and end up moving away from actually reading and studying Gods word.
Hi, Sisterita. I have a question? this Bible is a bible as well? I also have NLT illustrated study bible from Tyndale. Am a little confused. Do I need a regular bible? Thanks! God Bless!
Why are there so many videos of women helping other women to study the Bible? Do men not want to read the Bible? Do men not need help, like I do, when it comes to understanding the Bible? Is there a different way to study the Bible based on one’s gender?
Very good video. Last I read the ESV. This year I am reading the Charles Stanley life principles bible. I do as you read, and study the notes that pertain to the read in the Bible. I also added in Stanley’s life principle study guide, his bible series and his free monthly devotionals. To have a rounded experience. Once I finish this read through I am going to the ever woman’s bible and will do the same…read notes but will also read all the filament content. Looking forward to it

Hi Sisterita it just depends on how much I have going on that day but I will share more in an upcoming video on my reading habits

Hi new here! I'm very curious what does sisterita means?
