At least Kite got to finish his duel. Zwijo died before Requiem managed to get that last attack off. He didn't even get to see Yudias' LP drop to zero, even if he knew full well they did.
I don't even watch Go Rush, and my heart still sank when I heard the music come to a complete stop as Zwijo fell over. This is how you grab your audience's attention.
It was surprisingly unexpected, all things considered. Despite being told and _shown_ the entire episode that doing this will kill Zwijo, it still manages to catch you off guard when in the middle of his triumphant final move, he just collapses in pain and _can't get up._ He already had a moment where one of his legs started to fade earlier in the episode, but he just powered through and kept dueling, so it really grabbed your attention when this time, despite his best efforts his body just completely gives up on him. It was a legitimate concern for a lot of people that Zwijo wasn't even going to get to finish the duel, people were unironically fearing that he would just die then and there.
From all his plans to do what he wanted after not dying before on the battle field here he is now happily going out in his own way, fighting the person who showed him there was a point to living. He was a great rival and a good leader, damn good duelist, lovely hair.
I feel this moment was undercut by the OP playing. It's a little too cheesy & happy, for my liking, for what is supposed to be a character death. Yes, Zwijo went out on his own terms but it was, at best, bitter sweet. There were best songs they could've used here.
That's just it, though: it wasn't bittersweet, not for Zwijo. This is almost purely a happy moment for him, regardless of what everyone else may think or feel. He's unironically happier in this moment than he's been throughout most of his entire life.

But this is not a mass for the dead!" - while a more somber music score would have been proper, it wouldn't have been thematic. This is not a mass for the dead, but a triumph over a wandering warrior's regrets; may Zwijo live forever in our hearts and the empty sky's expanse be filled with joyous memories and his smile.

well it's your opinion. though i recommend watching sevens first before watching go rush. the two stories are connected, and you need to at least know what happened in sevens, if not then you would get spoiled on what happened in sevens if you watch go rush first.

Zuwijo wanted to die. He hated being revived every time he was killed in the war. He even said that the fact he has a finite lifespan now gave him more hope and made him feel alive for the first time.
@@nedrostram2360 You hit the nail on the head. Zwijo's felt somewhat detached ever since he was told the truth by Kuaidul after being revived at Go Rush Yu. He may have stopped all his desperate schemes to win the war and make Velgearians "true lifeforms", but he never grew to like the state of affairs. He may have _accepted_ that fact, but he still hated it, even now. With his lifespan now being finite, he finally saw it as something valuable again, and just wanted to make the most of his remaining time. The music is upbeat because despite how everyone else is feeling, Zwijo's thrilled. This is exactly the way he wanted to go out.
This is Yudias's version of "It should've been me; not him".

well it's your opinion. though i recommend watching sevens first before watching go rush. the two stories are connected, and you need to at least know what happened in sevens, if not then you would get spoiled on what happened in sevens if you watch go rush first.
If you manage to power through or even vibe with the silliness than by all means, it's honestly fun.
